6. Bigger
People are pissed, i bet there will be a larger protest than predicted in DC and all major metro areas will hold protests for those who can't make it. this should be a nationwide coordination.

Solidarity in September

2. Folks coming this way from the south and west bring a displaced
family with you to their relatives in GA, SC, NC, VA, DC, or NJ. Many people have relatives who can take them in but they have no way to get to them.

3. Must continue the demonstrations,, canceling would be the shrubbies
wildest dream.

Postponing may be an option if hotels, busses, airlines do not keep deposits but we know better.

4. 4 : carry on
... but perhaps make it a point to note that were funds and National Guard forces not diverted to Iraq, NOLA's preparations for and response to Katrina would have been monumentally more efficient.

7. Other.....
Make it about everything!

The war
The economy
Dependence on fossil fuels
The environment
Our civil defense system (hurricanes, earthquakes)
The need for a debate about what ending terrorism's power (therefore usefulness) REALLY requires
Human rights... Globally.

13. and off the side of the side road ...
it all to do with cleaning out the church to have a Thanksgiving dinner (that couldn't be beat) ...

So we took the half a ton of garbage and put it in the back of a red VW microbus, took shovel's and rakes and implements of destruction and headed on toward the city dump. Well we got there and there was a big sign and a chain across saying closed on thanksgiving. We'd never heard of a dump closed on Thanksgiving before, and with tears in our eyes we drove off into the sunset looking for another place to put the garbage.

We didn't find one. Until we came to a side road, and off the side of the side road there was another fifteen foot cliff and at the bottom of the cliff there was another pile of garbage. And we decided one big pile is better than two little piles, and rather than bring that one up we decided to throw ours down. That's what we did, and drove back to the church, had a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat, went to sleep and didn't get up until the next morning, when we got a phone call from officer Obie. Said "Kid, we found your name on an envelope at the bottom of a half a ton of garbage, and just wanted to know if you had any information bout it". I said "Yes Sir Officer Obie, I cannot tell a lie, I put that envelope under that garbage."

That should be the rallying cry! We need the Guard at home, not in Iraq.

Pointless war over there means we're completely screwed at home, cause, well, check it out.

If the Repubs have the gall to go ahead with their Sept. 11 festivities, I see no reason to cancel ours,
which happens to represent the opinion of the majority of US citizens.

18. It is all about lies and incompetence
Repugs let this disaster happen by cutting the funding for the Army Corp of Engineers and tried to ride this disaster on the cheap just as they have done with the war.

20. Agree...there should be only ONE MESSAGE - IMPEACH BUSH NOW.
We won't accept Cheney and Hastert, either. Robert Byrd would be the only one we can trust in the line of succession.

will follow if these issues are not addressed... and soon!

I wonder just what it will take to bring the American people to their feet and take to the streets?

I want to see the entire Bush cabal in prison.

edited for clarification

23. You should include "White House Storming" at this point.
There should be NO reason to cancel this event. In fact, have there be donation booths all around the mall to help the victims of this terrible tragedy. Everyone's voices need to be heard and LOUD. This administration needs to shit or get off the pot (preferrably the latter). In any other country, this idiot dickhead would have been hung by his thumbs and whipped in the streets.
