The Polls are Nuts!!
Edited on Tue Jan-27-04 07:38 AM by WI_DEM
This is the tale of two polls. One one hand we have Zogby who up to today was showing a huge Dean surge--now he says that on Monday Kerry led by 19-points--as undecideds are breaking his way.

On the other hand you have ARG which had at one point just a few days ago Dean running third and over time showing some small improvement inching his way up to second place. But in its final poll also on Monday--they had Dean significantly closing the gap as "undecideds are breaking for Dean"!!

So Zogby says undecideds are breaking for Kerry and Kerry is gaining and ARG says that undecideds are breaking for Dean and is predicting a very close race.

It's enough to cause ulcers.

4. How do you call an election
where ten republicans give eleven votes to Bush and Clark gets eight votes in a community with zero democrats?

You can only go by what people tell you they are going to do, and when you don't even talk to 40% of the possible voters, where does that leave you?

Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite would be the first people to point this out and stress the unreliability of these tallies. Todays newsreaders are not journalists; they just play one on television.

The polls are used to back a political point of view and the determination of what to report is not made by the newsman but by the management of the network. "Pundits" may have their own opinons but if they don't toe the "party line" they don't get to be pundits, now do they?

How many voices from the left--the real left--do you hear on the air?

Alan Colmes is a liberal spokesman? James Carville? Get real.

The truth is out there but you will never get it from the tv.
