For those without cable, this was unlike any other candidate interview they've done. (Well, they hinted at this with Sharpton).

Basically it wasn't as much an interview with Dean, as a fully-participating comedy sketch of an interview. He was a little stiff, but generally pulled it off.

It was like an interview but they kept showing what each was thinking while it was going on.

At one point their mutual cover stories on magazines popped up above their heads.

One good part was Stewart imitating Sawyer when she asked a zillion times if he was angry.

In the end Stewart was fantasizing about a same sex civil union with Dean.

Not sure what you mean, but they were really there doing an interview. There are pics all over the internet of them getting made up, sitting right next to each other with the cameras & lights, etc. in New Hampshire. They both contributed to the sketch parts of it - it was a deliberately funny interview.

rehearsing the lines, and some guy walks behind Dean and moments later the same guy walks just behind Stewart.

Besides that, you get to see Dean reading the internal dialogue index cards outloud - more funny stuff.

Where did you get that notion? If you had actually watched it you would have caught the bit at the end with the rehearsal and Dean reading the lines from cards. He showed good humor there as well.

and it look that way to me. howard had a "halo", like when they blue screen things. the over the shoulder shots just looked pasted together.
plus the crazy flow of the conversation just seemed pasted together.

i did post before the end of the show, when they showed them doing the voice overs.

if it was for real, i certainly stand corrected. i loved it either way.

20. Dean was really quite good.

Jon did all of us (and the folk who use the Daily Show as a news source) a big favor re-Dean with his interview.

I'm a Clark supporter, and I like Howard Dean. Heck, I really am learning to like Dennis Kucinich.

Mostly, I like having at least one show that's unabashedly rational.
