Schmidt vs. Blogs (UPDATED)
08-12-2005

Interesting item in tomorrow's Whistleblower:

When "Mean Jean" Schmidt gets to Washington, what will her first piece of legislation be? According to Whistleblower Research Bureau Chief Fearless Ferrett, word is she's already busy working on her Bloggers Reform Act of 2006, that'll require hosts to be personally criminally liable for all the lies published on their blogsites. But this wouldn't actually affect the Blower, since we're not really a blogger.

We've found other hints of Ms. Schmidt using her new status as Congresswoman elect to take on bloggers. Over at The Mockingbird:

So, yes, I think the FBI is now investigating whether or not the Mockingbird is really just a front for some sexually perverted website. It's not - though it might be hard for Special Agent Lawrence to determine given the winning entry for the campaign poster contest.

~snip~

UPDATE: We have confirmation of the FBI's involvement in investigating bloggers. That is not the case with The Whistleblower's statement, which also has to be taken with a certain grain of salt given the source. (remember the item about Jesse Jackson campaigning for Hackett?!!)

1. I heard she's introducing a bill outlawing veterans from public office
I'm sure that's just a malicious rumor, though. :)

2. Bring it on!
We have truth on our side. If this law passes, every conservative blogger will be out of a job the very next day.

5. What will Gannon/Guckert do?
Well, besides his obvious advertised activities. Everything on his "blog" is a freaking lie, it would be nothing but a blank page everyday! I guess it's back to being "bulldog" for Gannon/Guckert!

4. 1st Amendment? Nope, already shredded.
The question will be who decides what the truth is. A guy I know ran for state rep. against an entrenched neocon incumbent. He made an accurate statement about the incumbent's record on education and was reprimanded by the election commission. You can bet that every time Rep. Asshole opened his mouth from then on it contained the phrase 'election law violation.'
