Sent Today from Her
-------------------

Just because you went to college and sat though class makes you a follower of Jesus..? Just as if I stood in a garage makes me a car..? Have your forgotten the Passion of the Christ!!! and the thing he spoke?? You have to take a stand for right!! I have..Yes, I get upset as to what the liberals are letting happen to our country... I've not seen change come form passive people.. ! Passivity is what's gotten the abortion machine going and I'm to blame for that and so are you and that blood is on your head as well as mine.. If you vote for a liberal who believe in abortion.. You might just as well be in that room sucking that baby form it's mother body.. Your hands are just as bloody as the doctors who preform the murder.. and YOU will be held accountable as to how you vote.. So if I'm a nutty fruit cake as you say.. Your a butcher of the unborn by your voting practices..

Send you email to all the people on my email list lets see their response to your email as most of them send me the same type of email I sent you that upset you..

My Response
------------------

Rosie,

Once again…Thanks for your email. Your response is very interesting and I feel compelled to comment on several points.

First of all, I will not “reply to all” so that those on your email list can follow our exchange. I personally have no problem with others seeing what we are talking about. However, I will leave it up to you if we should include those on the list. Once again, I have no problem responding to all of them.

You are correct in your implication that just because someone goes to class doesn’t mean there are educated or are any closer to Christ. However, the issue of God and His/Her/It’s existence was so important to me that an emphasis in Religious Studies was a natural step in my college education. The fact is that “at least I was in the classes and seminars” which makes the likelihood greater that I gained considerable insight into most of the world’s religions. It’s a little like George Bush and Viet Nam. At least John Kerry served in Viet Nam while Bush was curiously absent from his military obligations.

As far as The Passion of the Christ…are you referring to the Mel Gibson film or the literal “passion of the Christ?” If you are referring to the film, I didn’t see it. I heard how violent it was and I didn’t really want to be exposed to it. In addition, Mel Gibson’s father is a well-known anti-Semite (against Jews), and I’m one that believes that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. However, he is a decent actor.

You have stated: “If you vote for a liberal who believe in abortion, you might just as well be in that room sucking that baby form it's mother body.” The implication is that “all” liberals are baby killers and that liberals are “for abortion.” This is a completely untrue. This may be hard for you to understand, but “no one” likes abortions…even liberals. It is not something that anyone wants to go through. The difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals understand that regardless of the “law,” abortions are going to happen. And because they will happen, liberals believe they should be safe. Prior to 1973 (Roe v. Wade), many abortions were performed by those who knew little about the procedure. Many women died horrible deaths (usually from bleeding to death). During this time, there were actually “safe” abortions going on performed by competent doctors. Of course, the safe abortions were reserved for those that could afford it. The result was that most of the women that died from illegal abortions were the poor and under-represented (aka: minorities and people of color). This hardly seems fair to me. Does it seem fair to you? If we make abortions illegal again, we will simply be sending the poor back into the alleys where the best surgical tool is a coat hanger. I don’t like abortions.

As with many issues between conservatives and liberals, there is no easy answer. If the answers were easy, there would be no debate.

For you, it is simply a matter of outlawing abortions. Let me ask you. Do you honestly believe that all abortions would stop suddenly because it was made illegal? What about in the case of rape or incest? You may not be aware but rape and incest also exist in the world.

It would be nice if we could legislate morality and ethics…If we could, Enron wouldn’t have stolen the pensions of thousands of employees. But you can’t legislate these matters. You cannot force someone to follow your beliefs by simply changing the law. Just like you can’t force a country like Iraq to accept democracy at the barrel of a gun. In both cases, it has to come from within…from the soul or from the people.

Finally, I don’t recall calling you a “fruitcake” as you stated above. It seems to me that you are reading things into my emails that are not there. This generally comes from being defensive and insecure. You are NOT a fruitcake. However, you are a classic example of one letting their “passions override their reason.”

Oh, one more point…
I must admit to being a little frightened of you and your way of thinking. You see, it is my opinion (and the opinion of many others) that 9/11 was conducted by a handful of religious “extremists.” I mean no offense, but quite frankly, you sound a little like a religious extremist yourself.

For me “extremism” under any circumstance is wrong by definition. That horrible day in NY would have never happened if those that conducted it had an ounce of tolerance for those that did not think like them. The truth is, they let their passions override their reason and sense of decency. As a result, it has become a horrible example of man’s inhumanity to man.

I hope that you are not heading down that road in the name of Jesus. I don’t think he would be pleased.

-Paige

That woman is totally ate up in the head. She is clouding points to

6. "If you vote for a liberal who believe(s) in abortion"
What does that even mean? Believes in abortion?

I support the right for a woman to choose what to do with her own body. That's it. No Liberal is pro-abortion.

I don't know how you do it. I would have just told her to screw off after the first email.

7. A calm, dignified response is usually the best way to respond to idiots...
... who have worked themselves up into a lather. It pisses them off even more.

What you have there is a classic reply from a conservative; full of righteous indignation, ignorance, and sweeping generalities.

The best way to respond is to keep your cool, take each of their "points" apart one by one, and make their ignorance as evidently clear to them and everyone else as possible.

Great post.

8. Wow - this is like a soap opera - and I'm enjoying it!

You've got so much more patience with this poor misguided woman than I would probably ever have.

I really liked this part:

"You see, it is my opinion (and the opinion of many others) that 9/11 was conducted by a handful of religious “extremists.” I mean no offense, but quite frankly, you sound a little like a religious extremist yourself."

and this part, too:

"I hope that you are not heading down that road in the name of Jesus. I don’t think he would be pleased."

You're doing great! Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to your next intallment of "The Freeper Saga"

10. The 'bloody' this and that language is nauseating
and the other visuals described, as well. Renders a person speechless to read that kind of things and wonder what is going through her mind to come up with such vile charactures.

11. How do you even know this woman?
I mean... I cut off people like this to the quick... no I don't. I should, but I don't.

Your responses are remarkable in that you're never angry. I love that! My b/f laughed at me today because I FINALLY got angry at someone while driving and I don't think he's ever seen me get the least bit annoyed. :) I understand what you're doing and it's wondermous, as I always say.

Seriously, though, how did you get on her email list? I must have missed this part. On your new threads, you should explain this, because, it's odd you guys would even HAVE a circle that includes one another. :)

Keep up the good and positive work!

12. You're letters are outstanding
Your correspondent doesn't sound like she'll listen to reason but by retaining your reason and responding in a calm, caring manner without threat or blame, you are displaying respect for truth and other's opinions.

We really shouldn't sink to their level. It does US no good to do so.

Thanks for posting these threads...

13. Great response
I would have brought up the fact that the blood of innocent Iraqi's also stain this country. I feel so complicit in their murders and yet I voted for Kerry, it was all I could do as an individual.

The Right is too self satisfied and ignorant to realize they need to get down on their knees and beg, and I mean beg, for forgiveness for the brutality they support in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gitmo and all those other undisclosed locations.

They are Pharisees and their time of rude awakening will come.

15. You're a truly a wonderful person for keeping your cool.
Your calmness is what is causing her to act out because she is very insecure of herself.
Thanks for keeping up date on your post! I really love reading it.
