Is There Not ONE GOP Leader Willing To Stand Up To BushCo?
Where are the sane, patriotic Republicans that KNOW BushCo. is a disaster for the country? I always hope beyond hope that a Senator like Dick Lugar will finally stand up and say "enough". I won't hold my breath, but it is amazing to me that there seems to be very little, if any, serious objections by any of the old lions in the GOP. Were they all just full of shit years ago when the professed to be fiscally conservative and against foreign adventures with no exit strategies? Surely some of them have to see the incredible danger BushCo has placed America. Where are they?

3. I think it is coming painfully slow, but coming
Just MHO - But I saw my Senator Voinovich passionately oppose Bolton and it gave me hope. McCain (even for his recent disappointments) has been trying to advocate for the environment and the House Repug that named the "Freedom Fries", I believe recently joined with Dennis Kucinich to call for a with drawl from Iraq - someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

4. I wonder the same!
I am more deeply ashamed of these guys than any DINO.

These guys are probably the most complicit of all -- watching their party be hijacked by pnac thugs & not speaking out against it.

5. I seriously wonder if BushCo is blackmailing them or something
Consensus so strong is near-impossible to see happen naturally, particularly when unethical actions are involved.

9. I was wondering the same thing...I feel that if they let this treason
go on in their administration, I feel not one of them has the morals or courage to save this country. It makes me want to cry when I think that ALL of those Repugs in Congress and Senate (even the moderates)won't stand up and tell the truth, then we are in heaps of trouble.

12. Voinovich has grown a bit of a spine, I'm gald to say..
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 07:54 PM by mikelewis
While he bends us over and rams the big one up us on most issues, when he stood up against Bolton's nomination, I was mildly impressed. Granted, he could have held it up in committee but at least he didn't roll over completely. I sent him a letter after his speech. This was the text:

Dear Sen. Voinovich,

Thanks

Michael Lewis

14. How is it this country doesn't have one Galloway.
In the last 5 years I can count on one hand the times people with name recognition have stood up to these bullies. The most memorable being Richard Clarke. I would love to know what he has on them to insure his security.
