Plea to God to "stop us from our moral freefall" just made
by guest cleric in front of the House at opening prayer just now. Did any of you hear that Falwell/Robertson wannabee from Kentucky just now? Just once I want to see someone from another religion other than the three monotheistic religions up there presenting the invocation. Has that ever happened?

1. Are you sure it was a fundie?
I would say that the Bush administration is in a moral freefall. Maybe it was a slam.

13. Was it Dr. Kevin Ezell from Louisville's Highview Baptist?
He was lead asshat involved in the "Justice" Sunday debacle a few months ago.

16. Not surprised. He's about as fake a Christian as they come
I swear, if Christ were alive today he'd throw the whole lot of them out of the temple.

4. That was my thought though I doubt this person was
praying for the loosening of the grip of bush from off the good people of the US. I wish they'd all just wake up. What moral freefall, the one all neo cons are on?

5. Nope
Yet I don't think atheists nor agnostics would be welcomed. That Baptist could be talking about Bush, free trade, Rove, or Harry Potter.

What we need is a Satanist to do the prayer. Make sure everyone is awake. And be one day without a snake handling fool.

8. Why would an atheist or agnostic even consider

doing a public prayer?

I prefer prayer to remain in church, and I am a churchgoer.

10. Why not?
If Christians want their prayers, let hear the prayers of others while we're at it.

Actually, I'd prefer a representative from each religion, sect, and denomination that exists in our nation to give a prayer in front of the Congress and White House each day so they will see how religous Americans are.

6. It doesn't matter what religion they are....
they all think alike, at least in the sense of moral values, mis-guided as they are.

9. Just ONCE.....
Dear God,
Please help our politicians understand that when you said, "Thou shalt NOT KILL!", you really, really meant it.

11. We are in a moral freefall and it has nothing to do with sex
When 51% of the people would not want Bush* impeached even after finding out for a fact he lied to start the war in Iraq shows there are few morals left. The right only considers morals to be about sexual matters and not about health and welfare and truth.

15. The greatest moral freefall... is the acceptance of hypocrisy...
This guy was praying for himself...

And yes, I did catch that... I turned off C-SPAN right after the beginning of the "one minute speeches"
