neocons, aka Israeli lobby, pulling out all stops for US to attack Syria
The more you read, the more you can see what's going on. Bush is determined to attack Syria and spill the blood of our children as yet another favor to Israel. Syria and the Palestinians having peaceful talks and agreements between themselves is something Israel cannot have. Enter Michael Ledeen, Richard Perl, William Krystol, Paul Wolfowitz, etc.

OIC countries call US to reconsider Syria Accountability Act
Regional-Syria, Politics, 7/1/2005

Foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Countries OIC called on Thursday upon the United States of America to reconsider the so-called "Syria Accountability Act".

"Reconsideration of this biased act to Israel expresses keenness on not increasing deterioration and not to waste chances of making a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East," a decision said.

The OIC has expressed by consensus "astonishment," and "worry," over the US congress decision called Syria Accountability Act imposed on Syria saying "it poses as a violation of the international law principals and the UN resolutions as well the OIC charter in addition to make the US laws triumph over the international law." The decision voiced full solidarity with Syria and appreciation of her position calling for "the language of dialogue prevailing," as a means of understanding among nations and solving dispute among them.

It called upon the US administration "to enter and in good will in a dialogue with Syria as to settle issues hindering the US- Syrian ties." The OIC countries announced denunciation of the "repeated Israeli threats," against Syria that "aimed at destroying the peace process and escalating tension in the region repeating support to Syria's right to restore full sovereignty over the occupied Golan."

3. I always hesitate talking about Israel
because many posters feel that when someone talks negatively about Israel or the pro-Israeli groups affilliated with the government. Please, people, realize that a criticism of Israel is NOT an attack on the Jewish religion. I have Jewish relatives-and they think what the neo-cons are doing is terrible!

That being said, I agree with the poster-it APPEARS that Bush is again doing the bidding of Israel. To the mind of many Arabs, the Palestinian issue is the key to the whole mess that has occurred in the Middle East. I think the American government has never really gotten this (at least since Jimmy Carter).

11. But to the Arabs who know which end is up and which end is down
it is the Czarist-Romanov exploitation of their mineral wealth by the autocrats and the oiligarchs (or is it oIligarchs) of the oil sheikdoms in league with the oil barons. The Arab proletariat has been exploited by their oIligarchs as cruelly as the Russian serfs were exploited by the Romanov Czars -- and when the serfs wake up - the oIligarchs will fall like the Romanov Czars.

5. We need to PULL BACK from Israel
and treat them even handedly --

Israel reminds me of a tiny bully -- who threatens everyone around him and knows that he can get away with it -- because he backed up by an even bigger bully who will sit on and squash anyone who even looks crossed eyed at the tiny rooster size bully.

The religious right wing in Israel scares the hell out of me -- because they can very easily have control over Israel's nukes -- and anytime ANY religious fanatics get control over nukes -- they just might use them.

ISRAEL has the nukes no other middle eastern nation has them -- therefore the greatest threat to world stability right now is Israel. I just hope that eventually the cool headed secular peaceful Israelis can rein in the religious nut cases -- the ones that seem to be pushing the NEOCONS in the US on this path of mutual destruction.

I know that peace-niks do exist in Israel -- really wonderful caring people who don't want want and do want Peace on Earth. But for some reason all we seem to hear from are the nuts --

I think that when historians look back on this era (IF the intelligentsias/colleges/universities survive) -- this will be known as the era of undiagnosed psychopaths (and sociopaths) taking over the world.

Israel's defenders are putting Israel ahead of the People of the United States -- and the tax payers of the US are being forced to support Israel -- using money that should go toward the infrastructure of the US road, bridges and cities AND for health care for the citizens of the US.

Then there is that "small" matter of the Israel military bombing a US Naval ship -- the USS Liberty -- and Israel got away with MURDER of Americans.

8. Info
Yes, treating Israel even-handedly would be ideal, if others did the same.

As for Israel having the only nukes in the Middle East, this may be true, but nearby Pakistan and India also have them, despite being signatories to the NPT, of which Israel is not. However, Israel is FAR from being the biggest threat to the world! And, as you hope that the "headed secular peaceful Israelis can rein in the religious nut cases," let's hope the same can be done here and in the majority of the Middle East.

As for "Israel's defenders are putting Israel ahead of the People of the United States...," I would say, in most cases, that is not very accurate. Many of US defend Israel because we believe she has a right to exist, not the she is always right. I love my country, the US, but in no way support this administration, as I think many on this board would agree. So, why is it so hard for people to understand that many Jews support Israel, but not her government?

As for your "small" matter of the USS Liberty, please read:

The Chief of Naval Intelligence screwed up Liberty - didn't tell the operating forces or the Israelis that Liberty was there, even denied that it was there. Chief of Naval Intelligence put out a cover story that the ship was a "false flagged Russian ship" and then another cover story that the ship was a "false flagged Egyptian troop carrier."

Then, just eight short months later the Chief of Naval Intelligence screwed up Pueblo the same way - didn't tell the operating forces, or the South Koreans or the Japanese that Pueblo was there.

The "truth" about Liberty is in both:
1. CAPT A. Jay Cristol, "The Liberty Incident"
2. CDR Lloyd Bucher, "Bucher:My Story"
and also alluded to in the report on Pueblo.

more about this topic.

9. israeli peaceniks....
oh we sure do exist.....we have no problem in having a palesteniain state next to us....but we also dont believe in commiting suicide......our relatives did that already and we didnt see the advantage of it.

What you hear if you listen are arab countries/states/authorities, still talking about removing israel from the face of the Earth.....what you hear from israel is a stubborn refusal to agree.

Saudi Arabia?....cant even visit....
Egypt?, Jordan?....no professional connections, no reporters, no universities
Iran...just threats of destruction
Lebanon?..letting a guerrela army run their southern border threatening israel with rockets
Syria.....keeping quiet.....(they keep losing when they attack us)

The PA..still cant decide if it wants to live with israel or shoot at us, depending on which speach or TV show your watching..or which day of the week.

We dont need any lectures about where we are, from someone living in a country that is not threatened daily by its neighbors.....

When Egypt stops producing movings like the protocols of zion, iran with their zaras blue eyes, or writing about the israeli ship that sails around the world taking out palestenian organs to sell...then and only then will us "peaceniks" relax and put down our weapons...

in the meantime the IDF reserve units (mainly from the left) have over 100% capacity....guess our "left" is a bit different than yours.

and the liberty?...HAH....if it was a planned assult, we wouldnt have sent two flights of fighters armed with the wrong weapons.....she would have been sunk in seconds using bombs, instead of maching gun fire (which cant even sink a ship....). But thats just basic

12. Do you know anything about Liberty and her sister ship Pueblo.
Read here -- I am fixated by Liberty and Pueblo because the Naval Intelligence bureaucracy almost killed my dad the same way!!!!!!! Yes - The Chief of Naval Intelligence Bureaucracy.

I think we need to pull back from our meth-heroin-crack addiction to oil and SUV's.

7. Oh, For the Love of GOD!
This is getting ENTIRELY out of hand!

And anyway, who in hell have they got left to report on it? Judith Miller's schedule is filled for roughly the next century, Matt Cooper has learned not to accept questionable invitations, Novak's too damned old, Bill Schneider's bald patch would be the death of him in that climate, Walter Rogers is still wearing Noxema inside of his underwear because cavalry duty was a tad more than he had expected in certain respects, William Crystal knows better than to leave DC for more than an hour or two... who in hell are they going to use to shill for them, Kitty Carlisle?

Would someone PLEASE call El Al and ship the entire herd back into the balmy climate that they have such a yen to send perfectly good North Alabama Rednecks to endure?

They seem to miss it very, very much.

Meanwhile, as for Syria, what the hell is Syrian for "We're sorry, but we're busy just now, in effing IRAQ!"???

10. As the say in the oil patch - Bull Roar
Wrongo - enter Lee Raymond, PhD ChemE, CEO of Exxon Mobil; enter Dave O'Reilly, PhD, CEO of TexacoChevron, and Ray Irani, PhD Chem E, CEO of Oxy, and on and on and on.

Screaming AIPAC or Israel or the usual "villains" is the deliberate plan of the real insider Neocons -- like Dr. Raymond or Dr. O'Reilly, or Dr. Irani, and Jim Baker and Dick Cheney (Former CEO of Oil Field Service Company Halliburton), and George Bush (former Harken Oil CEO) or Bush and House of Saud and Big Oil Consigliere Jim Baker - to divert attention from BIG OIL.

This is all about OIL - big oil, oil field control, oil pipeline control, oil hegemony.

Tell you something - look at the $60+/bbl for crude -- and the $2.559 for self serve and regular -- and get your self a copy of Craig Unger's "House of Bush - House of Saud".

I think I know a little bit about the "Energy Industry" ---> My first job was as a United States Coast Guard Safety Regulator---> I was born in Coal Country -- our garage collapsed into a sink hole in ConSol #6. And I've been in the "Industry" for 30+ of the last 40 years. And I'm a PhD ChemE like Lee and Dave and Ray - I just don't make as much money.

Here's the latest edition of "my" book--->
