When does the lame duckitude begin?
At what time does a second term president just naturally begin to fade into the background, at least in terms of national policy?

8. Certainly seems to be true
When your reactionary Repug Congress voted in by a majority of fundamentalist poorly educated nutjobs backs away from you and your positions and begins asking about a pullout from your misguided war, it's safe to say you're limping towards lame duckiness. Let's keep Quackers there for another 3+ yrs.

7. There's a rumor that
John Paul Stevens is edging towards retirement. Who wants to bet that he'll hold white knuckled until a (D) is in the West Wing? It's probably in his will that his body be placed upright on the bench and vote through a proxy should he shuffle off this mortal coil under Dubya.
