As sure as the sun rises tomorrow....
The Republicans are just as predictable. No matter what the charge and no matter if he is guilty or not, they will defend him to the death and they will attack whomever makes a charge against their brave leader. This is predictable and Democrats should know the responses ahead of time. Just as in the Senate today, when the Repubs stood behind Karl Rove - rather than take away his security clearance - they considered their vote as standing behind George Bush. The evidence will have to be so obvious and uncontestable and undeniable if they are ever going to be charged with any crimes. We know what their behavior is going to be so we should plan all our strategies around that behavior.

1. Just because they're screaming

doesn't mean they're out of danger. They're seeing the headsman walking towards them now, and they're eyeing the lethal gleam of his blade with great trepidation.

2. The Repubs remind me of an ant hill...
if you brush sand in it, they just keep hauling it back out with no thought processes whatsoever, just an automatic thing.

3. As much as I want to believe that
"Plamegate" will sink this administration, I remind myself that Rove is a champion dirty trickster who does a superb job of covering his tracks. One of the finest examples of Rove`s expertise is the 2004 election where AWOL Bush became a courageous man of principle while decorated Vietnam War vet Kerry became flip-flopping Hanoi Kerry. It was masterful and the press lapped it up.

These people will stop at nothing. NOTHING.

4. And it is obvious to me that we need the press to do its job...
Edited on Thu Jul-14-05 09:49 PM by kentuck
Once David Gregory and a few others started acting like real reporters, only then did the WH start to feel a little heat over the leak. Although the Internet can be very creative and can probably weed out the truth a little quicker than the cable networks, we still need them to act like real reporters if these folks are ever going to be brought to justice. Meanwhile, they keep telling their supporters that it is all politics and there is nothing to be brought to justice for. It's just the Democrats going after their president. We need the press to look at the facts and stop listening to the talking points of the Republicans.

5. While Freeway Blogging today
(Sat on the side of highway with UnhappyCamper and his grandaughter)
One of our signs said Karl Rove is a Traitor. I've been doing this for 2 months now and today got a beep, wave, yeah, thumbsup, even the ice cream man went by and gave us a ring! Work vehicles, like those belonging to builders/electricians, hearty honking. 18 wheelers MAJOR honking! This Traitor thing is pissing people off!
And I think its gonna stick!

6. It definitely SHOULD piss people off. This administration is comprised
of everything that is un-American and I think it's their hubris that will in the end bring them down. As a country, we need to feel a little humility right about now.
