Omg...omg! Watch Tony Blair get Grilled!
Wow!.. If you haven't seen this already, I really hope you view it.

God I love the British people -and- at least some of the British media. Sigh, if only we had a media in this country.

After watching this, also post what your opinion is of how you think Bushco's performance would be in a grilling such as this..

reporter.I can't imagine him being able to handle a sustained barrage from the questioner on this video or even worse, Jeremy Paxman, the grilla and the chilla from London.Sorry can't do the rhyme as well as Muhammad Ali!

4. That would be an awsome idea.. :)
Also, at the end of this video, the second part where he's being grilled by ordinary citizens, look at the sweet built-up on his forehead..

I myself think our Mr. Chimp wouldn't even have time to sweet. I think he'd literally have a complete black-out seizure. I mean wouldn't you just LOVE to have a meeting, such as you see in the second part of this video, where everyone in the audience is a DU member leveling the questions?

Man! I would so be there with a large box of popcorn. I wouldn't miss it for the world..

10. Saddam was in breach of UN resolutions. He Was! He Was!
Here's the jist of the interview:

Q: Mr Blair, you're a liar, aren't you.

A: No. I'm not. I had to make hard decisions.

Q: (sigh) But here's proof you're a liar.

A: NO. I'M NOT. lie, followed by lie (interviewer sighing in background)

Q: OK, but here's more proof you're a liar.

A: NO. (voice rising, body animated) lie, lie, lie

Q: (sigh)

on tony..I couldn't stand to see it to the end. I was getting really fed up with his slithering around the truth..you could just see him squirming in his seat.

And to think all those people died because of those two at their respective country's helms.

19. I see a similarity between Blair and Bush -
They had a decision to make, they made it, and they stuck to it.
The fact that it was totally wrong is beside the point in their minds.

It is time for impeachment - violations of public trust must not continue to be tolerated.

34. Blair
Let's be fucken honest here - was there ever any chance Blair could say no to Iraq? In all seriousness - given the poltical and economic realities of today's Britain, he couldn't have said no.

He could have sent a far smaller force and been far less gung ho about it, but it is simply idiotic to suggest that he could have said no, full stop.

26. Leonid Breshnev met with with Nixon during the Watergate scandal.
Of course that was not the reason for their meeting, probably was SALT talks or other issues we had begun to dialogue with the USSR about.

Breshnev was baffled by the firestorm around the Watergate affair. He asked Nixon why he didn't simply get rid of the reporters who were making things so tough for him.

Over thirty years later an American president may very well be offering similar counsel to the British Prime Minister or at the least wondering why he's allowing them to question his Imperial decisions.

28. "George Blair!" That was a good slip of the tongue.
WOW, thanks for posting this.

Imagine if we had this kind of dialog here in the states.

Imagine critical thinking American citizens asking intelligent questions of George Bush*.

It's interesting to see the contrast between Blair before the citizens as opposed to Bush* who is treated with kid gloves.

This country was founded to delete ourselves of elitist royalty. Our president was suppose to be just a regular American citizen. Nowadays, the president is so damn elite you have to sign a freakin' loyalty pledge just to hear him speak!

Arghhh ....

35. Ahem
As a proud Republican (in the sense that as an Aussie, I don't want a head of state who is "royalty" from another country) let's not forget that for all the back and forth in Commons, it's called the Commons for a reason - because the unelected LORDS sits above it!

Actually, use him as a prosecutor in a Nuremberg style trial of them.
I wonder how the interview would have been after the DSM came out.
OOh that would be good TV.
