Is it worth it?
We all face some decisions, mostly on a much smaller
scale of weighing how much something costs, in money,
time, energy and for our betterment. We buy major items with the
thought in mind of how long they will work;
if value is returned or diminished or we make money
on those purchases.

When we invest in something that keeps losing money
for us with the consequences of putting us in debt
we cut our losses and try to make money to pay back our debts.
The American way.

So when Bush says invading Iraq was worth it, what does
he really mean? Is it worth our reputation for pre-emptive
military action when we weren't threatened as a country? Is
it worth the billions spent on mostly military action in
destroying a weaker country and the costs here domestically?
Is it worth the lives of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens? Is it worth the lives of almost 2,000 American military and National Guard, plus the thousands who have been maimed and crippled for life? Is the loss of truth worth it? Is the loss of civil rights worth it?

And worth what? 14 permanent military bases in the country for endless American occupation. A seat on OPEC for Bush Inc. Control over the oil pipelines and distribution of contracts. Halliburton and the Carlyle Group's engorged portfolios and burgeoning investment returns. And most likely when all is said and done, a civil war until another Iran appears.

It isn't worth it.
