Neocon brain: the depth of evil that knows no bounds...

"......CRNC (College Republican National Convention) front-runner and University of South Dakota senior Paul Gourley was at the center of a controversial fundraising scheme. During the height of last year's campaign, a firm hired by the CRNC sent repeated solicitation letters printed on "Republican Headquarters 2004" letterhead to elderly Republicans, some of whom suffered from dementia. The letter urged recipients to pray over an American flag lapel pin, then send it back--along with $1,000--so George W. Bush could wear it during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention. The solicitation was signed by "Paul Gourley, National Director." Though Gourley denied knowledge of the letter's content until it was published, it cast a cloud over his candidacy."

My first impulse was to laugh at the sheer absurdity of this, until I begin to think about the honest, elderly conservatives who were duped into believing that Bush would actually wear THEIR prayed-over pin on his lapel.

What part of the brain causes one to conspire and committ fraud against his own kind, no doubt in the name of "morality"?

Some might remember letters sent out by Republican operatives in Reagan's day, indicating that President Reagan was "personally disappointed" that he or she hadn't donated to the party lately and that he had expressed hope that they might follow through after all.
Of course, no one of consequence was to blame....just overzealous staffers.

The brain of the neocon.....the depths of evil that knows no bounds.

2. Wow.. that's sad..
I'd love to have the mailing address for everyone of those misguided people that the Republican "overzealous" (yeah, right :eyes: ) staffers ripped off.

I'd send them a letter saying that the money they donated went to a wickedly fun GOP party attended by porn star Mary Carey, and if they'd be so kind to donate again... the Bush Administration will be able to continue holding these types of wholesome, morale events with their money..

.......

5. Why do you think that Repugs like absentee voting so much
it's so much easier to 'collect' votes for George Bu$h that way.
