Vilsack in 08? No! Why? New DLC Chairman
"Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack will become chairman next month of the Democratic Leadership Council, the moderate group that launched Bill Clinton toward the presidency, leading Democrats in Washington, D.C., and Iowa said Monday.

Vilsack is scheduled to address the group at July's National Conversation, the annual conference to be held in Columbus, Ohio, where the new leadership team will be formally introduced.
...
A key voice in determining who leads the group is Al From, the council's founder and chief executive.
...
More recently, From has been a strong advocate of Vilsack, having quietly supported the governor a year ago to become the 2004 vice presidential nominee. Vilsack was a finalist for the No. 2 position on the Democratic ticket, but Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts selected Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina."

1. I could see him either in this position
or a cabinet post. He just doesn't have the personality to be at the top of the Democratic ticket. Sad to say that's a major consideration nowadays.

3. To me....
just his name takes him out of the running.....

"Will sack Visack" will be the GOP mantra. Sorry, too easy!

Let him go head the DLC...where he belongs.
