US plan to bug Security Council - is this old news to us?
The text of the memorandum detailing the US plan to bug the phones and emails of key Security Council members, revealed in today's Observer

Did anyone here know this or hear about this?

2. If I remember correctly
this news came out about a year ago. If you don't know imagine all the other stuff that people who don't go online and search things out don't know? Explains a lot about why public opinion takes so long to turn.

I can't remember if this was the first story on that memo or not.

5. Okay, thanks for the clarification.
I didn't become poltically aware or involved until just before the last general election which I did MoveOn work for. After a couple of months of post-election anger issues I found DU.

I hope that gives everyone here a scrap of hope because I'm sure there are a lot more people like me out there who've found their inner citizen and are ready for grassroots action.
