Reminder - More Abu Ghraib abuse evidence due soon from DOD
This is going to add a lot of insult to injury for BushCo. Unless something's changed, the ACLU should be getting the photos from the DOD by June 30th and videos soon after. Remember? Sadly, more US disgrace is on the way... (Will Halliburton simply get a new contract for an Abu Ghraib expansion?)

Federal Court Orders Government to Turn Over Videos and Photos Showing Detainee Abuse
June 2, 2005
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: media@aclu.org

NEW YORK -- A federal judge has ordered the Defense Department to turn over dozens of photographs and four movies depicting detainee abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq as part of an ongoing lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union.

(snip)

The court order filed late yesterday requires the government by June 30 to reprocess and redact 144 detainee abuse photographs provided by Sergeant Joseph Darby to the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command. The order also requires the government to provide the court with an estimate of the length of time it will take to reprocess and redact four movies included as part of the Darby collection by June 10. The decision comes after the court privately viewed eight of the images from the Darby collection to determine whether the photographs should be released under the FOIA. The ACLU expects redacted versions of the photographs to be released within the next six weeks.

1. Can the U.S. stand anymore humiliation?
If some in Congress have seen all of the photos and did nothing what good will it do to show the World how our military treats their prisoners with the permission of the pres. after Gonzales approved stronger, illegal measures including excluding the Geneva Convention. Bush blaming the wayward guards won't fly this time. It will be America's shame.

3. The Bush Administration is America's shame.
The only purpose is to prove incidents aren't isolated to a few bad apples and put more attention on the higher ups that have sanctioned this treatment. People should also realize what happened there is probably minor to what goes on in the third world prisons the CIA uses and that it all ties into Gitmo and anywhere else BushCo is hiding anyone they don't happen to like or may have simply been caught up in a net of suspects.

We will need to remind the world that half of the country did NOT vote for this man or his agenda and that we're NOT supporting him now!

To regain respect, we would have to charge and prosecute the war criminals. Perhaps some of the uninformed half of the country will wake up and help us with that.

WAKE 'EM UP! WAKE 'EM UP! WAKE 'EM ALL UP!!
