And your goose encounter reminds me of something that happened at work a million years ago (or so it seems). I used to work for the local natural gas company and I would edit and send in the meter readers' books (the forms they fill out when they used to go house to house and read the gas meters). If they had trouble reading a meter, I had to call the customer or send them a letter about the problem. One of the readers turned in a "could not read meter" and the reason was "nasty goose in vicinity of meter, would not allow me to read". Seems that the homeowner had a goose that was kept in the backyard and he would bite any strangers that attempted to enter the backyard. When I called them, they told me that the goose was as effective as a watchdog. I can believe it. The result was that the goose owner was called the day that they were going to read the meter, so that the goose would be kept in the house that day.

Symbolman, I heard you on Mike Malloy's show the other night. Thank you for the great work that you do.

35. Oh man..

When I was about 6 years old at Aunt Peanut's Farm I got into the goose corral, it was huge and we even used to play baseball there, but geese are sneaky and they were nowhere to be found..

My cousins would walk around them with no problems, even take their eggs and make breakfast with them..

But when *I* went in there once alone the whole gang of them came after me.. I ran as fast as my little legs would carry me, to no avail..

The bastards ran behind me with their snaky necks shooting forward biting my ass over and over, I still don't know how many of there were, felt like 50 of them..

Somehow I got in the house and my mom pulled my pants down and lay me over her lap and they old ladies all had a great laugh over my purple major pinched rear..

I've hated geese to this day and now that I'm bigger than them there will be a problem with the next one that messes with me.. I will unload all that pentup post traumatic goose stress. :)

That is exactly what happened to me, cept I was 25 and a bit, what's the word...DRUNK. Up in Nova Scotia in a friends yard, gaggles of geese all bearing down on me, one landing repeated chomps outta my ass, my drunken friends collapsed on the ground like so :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

My friends also knew the geese, so they just came for the dumb yank. Pitiful. They remind me everytime I talk to them. (not the geese, fuck them)

Grape Koolaid! Rangers spread it on the grass and Geese hate the stuff, keeps them from crapping all over picnic areas..

on CSPAN the other day. Loosely paraphrasing, he was talking about how Watergate started (he was around for that), and how long it took to happen, and how similar the current events are to that time.

This is the beginning. This is some amazing footage - the White House was FORCED to take the petition seeing all those cameras there documenting the whole thing!

will take anything a member of congress brings them. That's almost always been the case.

Again, theatrics unless articles of impeachment are introduced. Do you really think those petitions did anything? Let me tell you where they went within 10 seconds of going in the white house - straight to the paper shredder. Then they all forgot about them.

This got hardly any air time. (if any) Introduce articles of impeachment bringing up the memos and it will get hours of coverage. That's something that can't be ignored.

You may call it 'theatrics' but it's a first step towards impeachment. You have to beat the drums to get attention. You have to raise awareness on an issue (what PR is all about) so it gets into the public conciousness that something is going on. It also gives people HOPE. That alone is worth it.

Why do you think the Repugs are fighting so hard to shut these hearings down? They're shutting off mics, denying room requests... anything to keep the messages they don't want out there from surfacing.

Yes, we need articles of impeachment, and of course that *should* get coverage - but even that isn't guaranteed.

We need as much attention, theatrics -- anything -- to keep this in the public conciousness however we can... blog, independent media, MSM, whatever. Death by a thousand paper cuts.

Otherwise, why not just give up?

We have to keep doing whatever we can do. There is no other answer.

I spent countless hours last year trying to get votes for kerry even though I would have liked dean. That's an activity that actually is constructive.

Personally to me the man is a God. I got left behind by the DNC folks (and maybe not their fault as the building was surrounded by police and blockades an hour before - the cab driver laughed at me and said I wasn't going to get in, there was no way..but I did :) )

Then later, I was told I should have signed up for the press pool but I literally RAN down a Hallway right to the Honorable Mr Conyers and explained that I was there to represent the truth and the blogosphere with video that wouldn't be SPUN, and he had his aid go tell the woman in charge of letting cameras in that I was to BE IN THAT ROOM, and she said, "It's not just a good idea, it's THE LAW.."

I was trying really hard not to laugh, not because I was getting my way, but just because of the comment "It's the LAW" being made by the aid..

So yeah, we're ALL working, you with Kerry, me flying thousands of miles on my rent money, and John Conyers showing them how the TRUTH comes with Strength, tenacity, and how to DIGNITY and Civility Trumps Treachery and Treason.

Thanks for all your work.. maybe next time you can word on Electronic VOting and getting THAT fixed, because if THAT isn't dealt with then you can save a lot of work stumping for a candidate you don't like - since no person's vote will count AT ALL.

I have to go through tons of footage, plus two tapes handed over to me by FLUX at the Rally, a godsend - this is footage he shot right here, I was at the Hearing trying to get BACK to the Rally which was being held at the same time..

I'm going to be hitting this edit for 48 hours straight and then start kicking out and mailing DVD's..

Looks like it will be a double DVD set, one for the complete hearing, another for interviews/Rally, etc..

I think we may actually get this trip payed for this time - except for staying in that fancy Motel - called "Super 8", pretty scary place on New York Ave NE in DC..

I literally carried everything I owned with me ALL the time in DC (camera, tripod, big bag of cables, microphones, etc), didn't dare leave it there - basically couldn't go anywhere to eat either within 8 blocks, so I saved a lot of money on food by not juat not eating :) (a pizza delivery guy, and a cab driver told me that most of their cohorts WON'T go there

But it was worth it, every second of it.. to see history in the making..

Besides what Conyers and the rest are producing, I believe there has been a weather change in the Media.. ever since Newsweek and CBS got trashed by them for TELLING THE TRUTH I think the media is realising that it's becoming a Live or Die situation for them with BushCo..

Remember, they stab EVERYONE in the back that helps them, ALWAYS.

Flux got more rally on film than I did (the hearing and rally overlapped) and graciously shared his footage so that I could pool both and get both events on Two DVDS.. He got the INCREDIBLE footage of Conyers and crew at the gate where they folded and let him and pals hand over the 560,000 sigs as well as his Questions for Bush about the DOwning Street Minutes..

The DVDs are finished and going into the mail tomorrow - I've still got a few more to print and duplicate (as more calls for DVDs are coming in), which will be sent out most probably Monday, so if a few of you don't get them very soon then it will be soon after that, within days. Just thought I'd give a headsup here..

I had to go to the doctor in the past few days, may have to get the old gall bladder removed, so I'm banging away at getting every DVD set in the mail before they knock me out and pull my party balloon out through a steel tube..

Heard it's not a lot of fun either.. :)

Glad you're back Flux, how's the camera? I was going to call you but have been getting between 3 and 5 hours of sleep working on this edit and duplication/printing of the DVDs - about the time I'm ready to take a break and call it's like midnight where you are, at least where I THINK you are :)

Flux caught one of the most historic moments in history - we have to keep hammering this issue and not let it go away.. when you get your DVDs have a house party, get people involved, make popcorn, etc..

print out letters for them to send to Senators/Congressmen, etc - right or left doesn't matter, remember, it was the REPUBLICANS that threw Nixxon out of office :)
