We'll never see this come out of "liberal Hollywood," but I'd sure like to...
In the spirit of the original "Two Thousand Maniacs," a traveling family runs afoul of a small town overrun with slogan-spouting 'patriots' who imprison, torture, rape, and murder their victims in reenactments of 'highlights' of The War On Terror.
During the course of the film, two things are revealed: the 'patriots' are all non-participant war-supporters, and one of the travelers--being held on charges of 'un'Merikanism'--is a decorated veteran.
When this skilled vet gets pushed too far, he/she responds in kind and takes down the entire town Rambo-style. The surviving family members escape the burning town.
In the end, they come to a huge concrete-walled checkpoint. Although they witness the summary executions of another family (and their pet), they get through without incident after presenting their passports and microchips. The officer-in-charge asks them if they've heard any news about an 'insurgent terrorist attack' that wiped out an entire American community...
The family continues on its way through The New America.
***NOT an actual movie plot, just something I threw together.
