From the Kerry Campaign Regarding the Osama Ad
Just FYI I wrote to ALL the Dem presidential campaigns regarding the inflammatory Osama ad attacking Howard Dean's foreign policy experience (this letter I sent off to all of them was posted in OF last week) and received this reply:

"Thank you for sending John Kerry your thoughts and concerns about the recent advertisements sponsored by Americans for Jobs, Health Care and Progressive Values. The John Kerry for President campaign is not involved with these advertisements in any way - in fact, John Kerry said these ads should be pulled from the air because they are inflammatory.

The use of Osama bin laden in this ad is inflammatory and a distraction from a real issue of who has the foreign policy experience and vision to lead the country in a dangerous world.

John Kerry agrees with you that this campaign is about leadership,
focusing on the Bush Administration and the issues facing America. He has taken courageous stands on those issues and outlined solutions to a wide variety of our country's most serious problems."

11. no replies other than...
... a 'canned' form letter from a couple of the others - but not specifically addressing this ad. Got the 'form' letter from the Clark campaign and one other one, I think.

3. I thought so
It just didn't make sense that Kerry would do that. Doesn't sound like him at all.

9. Maybe I missed it
But in what way did the Dean campaign insinuate Kerry was behind those ads?

10. Check out Dean's site
This accusation was all over the site a week or so ago.

They even used it as a fundraising gimmick- I mean device.

13. seems I remember...
...seeing that on Dean's site (he fingered Kerry and Gephardt, abiet somewhat indirectly)

I don't really care who said what or who fingered who. I'm just sick of Democrats attacking each other. GOD KNOWS there are veritable truckloads of crap they ought to be attacking that little weasel bu$hit about - NOT each other. Not to mention the fact that their petty attacks are a turnoff.

I don't mind them discussing the issues and the differences in the ways they would each handle those issues and their policy differences - but the attack ads and attack statements are just CRAP and I'm tired of it. What a turnoff.

12. I'm not sure he did.. but like I said...
...I sent that letter expressing my distaste for Democratic candidates attacking each other (instead of bushit) to ALL the candidates. Thus far, the only one who responded specifically to my letter, was Kerry.

14. Have any of the other campaigns denounced the ad at all....
Gephardt is the most likely suspect, given the source of the ad, but the other candidates should denounce the ad based on it's inflammatory nature alone. I'm far from Kerry's biggest fan, but in this case he did the right thing.
