Matt Lauer impersonates O'Reilly during Dean interview
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 12:47 PM by KurtNYC
Lauer stayed right on the GOP message and cut off Dean's answers.

To his credit Dean went on answering even as Lauer tried to stop him. Lauer talked over the top of Dean when he couldn't get Dean to stop.

Lauer with an assumed air of righteousness tried to attack Dean for criticizing the GOP. Lauer as much as asked him to apologize and Dean took the opportunity to simply repeat the points that Lauer was objecting to.

the outspoken Dean, appearing on NBC"s "Today" show, said criticism of him is meant by Republicans to divert attention from the country's problems and make him the issue instead.

One thing Lauer didn't ask was "Has Brent Schundler ever just jumped up in front of you at one of your rallies?"

1. Dean was great in this interview!!
This will allow him to put his message in front of regular people, something Democrats do not get to do too much right now.

5. And not even good at that.
But that's just a personal opinion. ;)

3. Well at least he strayed from his usual impersonation of....
a complete and utter non-talented asshole. Wait, that describes O'Reilly too. Nevermind.

7. That is great to hear. I especially like the "keep on talking" technique.
These asshats interrupt us and talk over us precisely BECAUSE it is rude, and they're betting that we'll clam up as a way to "maintain civility."

Well, tough. If I'm talkin' I'm gonna keep on talkin' -- with a smile on my face, an even tone to my voice -- no matter what squeaking squealing yowling noises the repukes make.

Anything else is weak submission.

Go, Howard! :)

13. I agree and it looks rediculous with
Schundler photoshopped into it. Dean radiates. Schundler just looks like a grump.

It seems no surprise that the Schundler campaign couldn't find any similar pictures that actually had Schundler in them.

10. I don't think Lauer is seen as a journlaistic powerhouse in
politics. He should just get back to doing the "WHere in the world is Matt Laurer" fluff he and Katie are good at.

12. O.K. So GE doesn't want Dean
to tell the truth about the corporate stooges masquerading as the Republican party. Does Matt strike you as someone who knows anything? He reads the script and sticks to it like any other media whore.

14. Great Schundler comment!
I only wish Dean would have corrected Lauer when Lauer asked about Edwards negative comments (would have been great to hear "Hey Matt, have you seen John Edwards web site lately? - might want to rethink your last question")

I loved that Dean laughed as Lauer stuck to the GOP line of questions even after Dean shot the first round down. Dean looked great, Lauer looked like a guy who couldn't talk w/o a script in front of him.
