I just found a bunch of on-line Photos of the War in Chechnya!
And if you've ever gone looking Chechnya War Photos, you'll know they are very rare and hard to find. They usually get Censored by the Russian Government quickly.

These are a few years old (September 2001), but I thought some here might be interested. They are located at a Russian Stock Photo agency, so they have a transparent logo in the middle of them, but I still found them interesting.

Especially the few that show Protester pictures of Mothers and Wives wanting info about their disappeared Son's and Husbands, and the pictures troops with Special Forces Patches (on their uniforms) written in English. "Private Military Contractors?"

1. Interesting about the "special forces" in English
I wonder what that's about? would they hire mercenaries from the US? Or would the US send mercenaries? Or maybe they just got uniforms from the US. Always looking for a good conspiracy.

5. I find the idea that US special forces wear nifty arm patches
saying "special forces" a bit suspicious.

And I doubt that the Russians would lack the personnel to produce their own little nifty arm patches.

A DU posting a few months back linked to a webpage claiming to show US concentration camps: the signs were in Croatian, not something I'd expect for North Dakota.

Most of the "Chechen" pictures could easily be in Chechnya. Or numerous other places. But the arm patch in English ... ?

6. No, what I'm saying is, not only is this a "Closed to All Media"

War, but that those are probably South African Mercenaries. Putin using the Same tactics as *, use "Private Military Contractors" for that extra level of Plausible Deniability.

Plus, most of these "Troop" have NO patches and their faces covered, another indication of Mercenaries.
