Tonight on Countdown
------------------------------------------------------

Pop star Michael Jackson made a brief trip to a local hospital Thursday evening to be treated for dehydration, sources told NBC News, another sign of stress as his trial nears an end. His defense team is set to wrap up its closing arguments Friday, followed by the prosecution's rebuttal and then jury deliberations. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8083261/

Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann broadcasts LIVE at 8 pm et, and the count is never complete without you. Join us.
Alex Witt in for Keith tonight.

Two years into the war in Iraq, as the Army and Marines struggle to refill their ranks, parents have become boulders of opposition that recruiters cannot move. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/03/nyregion/03recruit.html?

Natalee Holloway disappeared on the last night of a trip to Aruba to celebrate her graduation from high school. Four days later, the Alabama teenager is still missing, despite an extensive search of the Dutch Caribbean island. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8079019/

As movie buffs and the media descend on the Vineyard this weekend to mark the 30th anniversary of Jaws, memories from that summer of blood are flowing like, well, blood from the great mechanical shark's mouth. The film, widely considered the first summer blockbuster, was shot here over more than five months in 1974. http://www.mvgazette.com/news/2005/06/03/jaws_fest.php

Monica Novotny reports: Wing Women... Women who help men.... you'll have to see for yourself.

Keith's Favorite Five of the week.

That's some of what we're planning for tonight's show.

Finally,
Two Nepalese climbers were on top of the world this week - not only because they reached the top of Mount Everest but because they got married there in what was believed to be the first wedding on the summit. It was a brief ceremony with no procession, champagne or band - only piles of snow and a breathtaking panorama for bride Moni Mulepati, 24, and groom Pem Dorjee, 23, as they exchanged their vows at 29,035 feet on Monday. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/N/NEPAL_EVEREST_WEDDING?SITE=NWCN&TEMPLATE=STRANGEHEADS.html&SECTION=HOME
The two lovebirds then promptly passed out from lack of oxygen and rolled all the way down the mountain. Their honeymoon ambulance awaited.

5. Um, what does yes :), sorta :=) mean? Are you Keith? The newsletter guy?
I'm not part of the KOEB, even though I do think that Keith is pretty hot - mostly because he's smart.

I thought Dan Rather was looking pretty hot last night too, on the ugly Larry King show. Cheney, Bush and even Clinton didn't impress me because none of them talked about things that were very meaningful.

Speaking truth to power causes people who do it to age well. Dan Rather did it well last night.

7. Did you hear Howard Fineman saying Pentagon story today
about urinating on the Quran confirmed the Newsweek story? The only thing Newsweek did wrong was state this info was in a Gov't report.

In my opinion, it probably was in a Gov't report, and when this newsweek report game out, the Pentagon removed the info to make the magazine look bad!
