OMG....Tell Stephanie Miller to get on Ritalin if she ever hosts another
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 08:09 PM by KoKo01
Dem Function. She's disgusting on C-Span as the Anchor for the Campaign to Take Back America where she's HOGGING THE SHOW with Hyper Kinetic Behavior and intimidating Atrios, Corn, MYDD and Black America Blog. guy.

She would turn off Middle America who might listen to the rest of the panelists.

I like Stephanie Miller on her Radio Show...but this was the WRONG VENUE for her. She's appearing OBNOXIOUS to this DU'er. I wanted to hear the panelists and not her throwing her "carefully straightened hair in her slim jeans acting like some damned Cable Comedian." GIVE HER MEDS.

THE REST ARE GREAT...but what a disappointment that we Dems pike these strident/jokey types to "facilitate the real message."

Most of these folks are "SERIOUS" and don't need to play off a Comedian..

:puke: Stephanie you are bombing with many of us here who are thinking you are "DETRACTING" from the message we need to get out.

These are SERIOUS TIMES...not Jokey Network Sitcom Time....Disgusting...she's so distracting.

1. You mean get off the Ritalin.
I am not watching but Ritalin affects adults in a different way than it does kids.

Whatever she's "On or Off" she's making the panel about HER/HER
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 08:39 PM by KoKo01
And Atrios and MYDD and Corn are having a hard time getting over he Pihranna style of "leave no prisoner" because it's all about ME/ME/ME/ME/ME....Atrocious!

7. Person from Audience asks about Fair Elections and Stephanie takes
up the issue saying question was correct just "listen to my Show where I talk about this all the time."

Other panelists are now saying the African-American groups have NO MONEY for Offices or Staffs to deal with this. Stephanie barges in and makes the issue her own again.

Condi Rice comes from Black Background...where is she coming from. Stephanie the anchor didn't give the others a chance to answer. Stephanie ends the show with the "Wedding Roll line up."

15. FWIW,
Ritalin affects one according to whether one has ADD.

It affects both children and adults with ADD the same way (helps them focus, concentrate, sleep, etc); whereas it acts as a stimulant to people who don't have ADD.

2. I didn'tsee her but I did see part of the CSPAN program
However, Steph is fabulous. She has a great schtick. She is funny, sarcastic, energetic, and genuously nice to the progressives. I have heard nothing in her broadcasts that make her obnoxious, so I am suprised to hear that somehow she has become this awful person. WTF?

16. I've listened to her show and on that SHE is the Center and Great ..BUT!
she was the wrong choice for this. She was Moderating a Panel and acting like it was her own show where the Bloggers were "callers" and she could "dispatch" them according to her own view as the DJ.

It was the wrong showcase for her talents. They needed someone who was used to moderating. It was a bad choice for the C-Span viewers we are trying to win to our side.

How many 20 to 40 year olds tuned into C-Span for this event? Not many. Mostly old fogies whom Stephanie would have sent running to the hills.

That's what I'm saying. She was a terrible choice for this unless D-Span Marketing thinks everyone who is interested in "Change for America" is under 30 and would be tuning in to see Stephanie in jeans with her Salon straightened hair take on Atrios, MyDD and David Corn and make mincemeat of them with her "overwhelming personality."

SHTICK at the Height....Disgusting ...who the hell put this segment together for the "Campaign to Take Back America.'

My "Hip Hubby" walked out of the room he thought she was so obnoxious. He wanted to hear serious stuff from the Bloggers and was turned off at her hogging the show...

11. What if they are "Show Hogs" and as Anchor don't let rest of Panel get
a word in. What if she came across too HIP and Agressive and just a little to much trying to play the "Wise Ass/Agressive Kid who rules the show?"

What if she turned folks off who watch C-Span who might be genuinely interested in getting involved who aren't interested in someone whose over 20 being the totally hip/hyped Agressive Female who Hogs the Show that they hear the Repugs carry on about.

I'm a female and will fight to the death over my rights, but I don't try to come off as a "Ball Breaker" doing it. (well...maybe sometimes on DU, I do) but for Americans who think that "Stoned Laura Bush" is their idea of femininity I think "Stephanie" might be the Opposite Extreme in turning folks off if she doesn't allow the males on the panel to get a word in because it's all about HeR/HER/HER/ ME/ME/Me...I'm so cute and witty and don't you just love me. ????????

4. Oh S**t now we go to that Women are not Bloggers! Give me a Break!
More Dem hystronics about Gender. I have a feeling that more DU'ers are Females than Males...but because Skinner et al are males it means Bloggers are Male Dominated.

I don't care to spend my time on Oprah on the Networks or Wonkett on the Blogs...does that mean I'm being discriminated against? NO! I think that my voice is as important here as anywhere else.

As long as we Dems allow ourselves to get in knots over "panties" then we will be dead going against the Repugs. Not that I wouldn't like more female Bloggers, but I'm happy that so many of us female bloggers are here on this huge site even if we take non-gender names and many of us don't post about PMS or other female issues except RIGHT TO CHOOSE and CHOICE OF HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN.

Not all of us are out there trying to express our "Femininity on Web Sites." Sheesh! :-(

8. The Panel was Dull because she wouldn't shut the hell her face UP!!
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 09:04 PM by KoKo01
What was WITH HER.. Hogging the Show talking over everyone making herself seem like a Huckster at the State Fair, FGS! I was horrified with her! Anyone in mainstream America watching this tuned her out. :-(

My hubby who is an Active Democrat and lives with ME who is near a Socialist couldn't stand her and I begged him to stay in the room to listen to the other panelists.

We don't need to lose folks who might watch C-Span because someone told Dems we need to "Keep the show moving along...so "Ramp it Up Stephanie...so the audience doesn't get bored and thinks you are a step beyond MTV."

We Dems always make the mistake of going OVERBOARD with SOB STORIES OR OVERBOARD WITH HYPE.

These are Serious Times...It calls for Proper Decorum...

10. I think she's great!
I also love her show, and I thought she was great with this panel (I admit, I wasn't able to see the entire segment). Entertaining, and yes, energetic (but I didn't feel THAT much in excess). I dig the fact that she's in jeans and is totally unpretentious.

13. Well, let me ask you this. If she showed up dressed like Laura would you
say the same thing? "I dig the fact that she's ......and is totally unpretentious?"

Why is it necesary to wear jeans to be accepted on a panel talking about Bloggers? If I was old and wrinkled like Granny D. and moderated would you think I wasn't "Hip" enough?

Is there a "dress code" to be involved with bloggers in panel discussions on the internet, now?

21. I'll try to check the link out later. She's a cutie, for sure......BUT,
I stand by what I said about her as Panel Moderator tonight. She was on with people who were on HER SIDE...she didn't need to dominate. I'm sure she did very well against the Heritage Foundation where she might have needed to be more outspoken.

This was the "Blogger's night." And she overshadowed them. Only David Corn was able to get a word in and that's because he's used to doing Faux and other media venue's and is more seasoned at getting his points across. The others barely got a word in. It's a Moderator's job to Moderate and allow the others to speak. This wasn't supposed to be a Faux/MSNBC kind of thing where the Moderator drowns out all of the others.

I think you misinterpret that I'm trashing Stephanie herself. I'm not. It's her inappropriateness for the panel tonight.
But thanks for the link...

22.  .........And the horse you road in on too.
Lighten up and get off your high horse.

Stephanie was one of the only people with the "balls" to to talk
about a stolen election when NOBODY else was. She did that @
risk of her career.

BTW Some of those "guest bloggers" had the charm of soggy toast.
Talent, looks, quick, and smart ..... real bad things.

If 500,000 people watched that nationwide I would be surprised.

Did CSPAN-2 really have "technical difficulties" when Stephanie's co-host did his Bush impersonation and called the Bushes liars?

I'm sure it was just a coincidence. :eyes:

the OP is danged close, if not intentionally so.

It was a hell of a lot of fun to watch, and I think she did a fine job. How often do you think she's even moderated a forum?

Everyone got an opportunity to speak a few times, she kept things moving. Give her a B.

28. Sorry - Totally Disagree
I watched it last night and thought Stephanie was great! She started off the forum with some jokes and a skit with Jim (during which C-SPAN conveniently had trouble with their broadcasting). :eyes:

Anyway, as the forum progressed, each blogger was given their chance to speak without much interruption, so I really do not know what you are talking about.
