So who is electable?
Besides your candidate, who is electable? I'd say after Kerry I'd have to go with Clark because of his military experience and I do think people care about security no matter what they say in their "issues" polls. So, besides your candidate, who is most electable?

1. For differing reasons they are all electable. It is a fickle public and
no one is a sure shot. I really get bothered by people falling into the electable trap. They all have their strengths and they all have their warts. I leave discussions of elect-ability up to the newscasters...and they are almost always proven wrong.

11. No. As stated above, they all are. Unless you watch television
then that's a whole different story. You're not going to get a straight answer here. :hi:

9. I agree - CBS poll have ALL within margin of error of beating Bush
Kerry is up 3 (49/46) and Dean is down 5 (45/50) but by Nov I expect all could easily beat Bush.

3. All are electable
It's just a matter of getting people out to the voting booth and making sure they're votes are counted.

But out of them all, I'd say next to Kerry its Edwards.

5. The only electable one
will be the one who wins the nomination.

That's why we have the primaries, to find out who is the most likely winner. If you can't get enough support from your own party, you won't likely have a great chance in the general election.

The "electability" arguments are just theoretical nonsense. At this point in 1992, Clinton was "unelectable" and many said the same of Kennedy in January of 1960.

Nothing succeeds like success . . .

6. John Edwards only
Kerry isn't even worth the vote being Skull and Bones just like Bush and part of their agenda.

7. All Of TheTop Candidates Are Electable According To The Newsweek
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 04:05 PM by GR
Poll out today. But it's way too early to say who's the "most electable" Instead of trying to measure something that can't be measured, we should get behind our candidates and make them electable, all of them.

As for all these comments from the media about voters wanting to pick the most electable, that's always coupled with an unspoken premise that Dean is NOT electable.

That's pure poppycock. I think he's the most electable. He's a centrist in many ways, appealing to the masses, but right on the war and right on healthcare and right on the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and same sex unions.

But oh, he yelled at a rally once...OOOOOHHHHH Booooy He must be crazy.

10. Dean wants to raise taxes on the middle class
I think this is the issue hurting him the most.

Kerry wants to raise them only for the rich.

8. Anyone whose last name is not Bush
Really. It is already bad if you are not in among the uberrich. By the time we hit the predicted $3.00/gal, I think in June, a rabid possum would beat Dubya.

13. None Are Electable by Diebold Voting Machinez
We have to stop them from stealing the election again.

That matters more than who the candidate is.

12. Electable? Here's my predictions...
(BTW...Some of you might remember me from my several thousand posts as rpf113. I'm waiting for my password.)

GOOD CHANCE:
1. Clark
2. Kerry

FAIR CHANCE
1. Edwards
2. Dean

NO CHANCE
1. Lieberman
2. Sharpton
3. Kucinich

In that order. And yes I do believe that in a match up Sharpton would beat Kucinich. Sharpton has a quick wit and I would love to see him as part of the next administration.
