disassemble -- that means not tell the truth
Edited on Tue May-31-05 08:22 PM by paineinthearse
:wtf:

"...people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble -- that means not tell the truth. And so it was an absurd report...."

This is what one gets with Yale undergraduate and Harvard Business School degrees? Sheesh!

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050531.html

THE PRESIDENT: Terry.

Q Thank you, sir. Mr. President, recently, Amnesty International said you have established "a new gulag" of prisons around the world, beyond the reach of the law and decency. I'd like your reaction to that, and also your assessment of how it came to this, that that is a view not just held by extremists and anti-Americans, but by groups that have allied themselves with the United States government in the past -- and what the strategic impact is that in many places of the world, the United States these days, under your leadership, is no longer seen as the good guy.

THE PRESIDENT: I'm aware of the Amnesty International report, and it's absurd. It's an absurd allegation. The United States is a country that is -- promotes freedom around the world. When there's accusations made about certain actions by our people, they're fully investigated in a transparent way. It's just an absurd allegation.

In terms of the detainees, we've had thousands of people detained. We've investigated every single complaint against the detainees. It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of -- and the allegations -- by people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble -- that means not tell the truth. And so it was an absurd report. It just is. And, you know -- yes, sir.

No, *, YOU are what is absurd! And STUPID! To misstate a word and then give an incorrect definition is the height of stupidity.

8. "Absurd" is usually how the criminal in a murder-mystery
defines the detective's claims. And they often flail about the drawing room before making a defiant and indignant exit.

3. Don't take the bait, man!
They want you to focus on the grammar -- and you KNOW that guy never says a thing unscripted! -- instead of the rest of the nonsense he spouted.

Sounds like this little diversion is working...

him trying to educate the reporters. I hope Laura told him off about that.

Dry and subtle, SJ. LIving in the hall of mirrors as we are, wasn't sure if your post was ironic or disassemblification.

You may have also noticed how he drew out the word "delay" as if it had five syllables-- and as if he was really saying something by sheer emMmphhhaaaasssiiiiIIis!

He used the wrong word. Typical. But then he has the arrongance to define the word because he thinks the rest of us are so f*cking stupid that we don't know what it means ... and by doing do, he reveals how f*cking stupid he is because he used (and then defined) the wrong word!

6. What an ignorant fuckwad
Edited on Tue May-31-05 08:24 PM by Clark2008
I think he means dissemble:

1. To disguise or conceal behind a false appearance. Disguise.
2. To make a false show of; feign.

But, of course, why do I expect him to know the motherfucking English language - the backwards dipshit.

P.S. I'm sorry. Having a bad day and as a Comm major with a minor in English, I expect my president to fucking know the English language. Is that too much to ask? Geesch.

10. Why don't you tell us how you really feel, Clark
I'm right there with ya. It amazes me how many ways he finds to totally destroy the language. He's only the fucking president of the united states, is he not? At least that's what he claims to be. Some representative of us to the rest of the world, who all probably speak better English than he does.

21. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a bit ABSURD...
...to end a sentence with a Verb?

Dissemble is listed as a verb in the dictionary.

It's Absurd! "That means, it don't make no sense, see!" (Said in the "* trying to sell the SS lie" voice.)

24. True...
but, with his record, if he'd even gotten the meaning anywhere near correct, I would have given him a point. We all know that using it correctly in a sentence is asking too much.

like he is still in charge and they don't bother to go on the defense anymore for his gaffs. They let him play president, an ignorant one at that.

Also, I don't know if you've seen the website Dubya Speak .com, but they should have some funny things to say about this soon too (They haven't added todays comments yet, but I'm sure they will).

15. As a friend said today
He had to read the cliff note definition as well. He didn't even know enough not to read the little note they left for him that tells him what the word he just used meant.

The sad part is, he probably doesn't even realize that he used the wrong word. Perhaps they should give him even easier words next time. After all, his BASE wouldn't know the difference in disassemble and dissemble, right? I can hear them now -- making it part of their everyday language because they learned it from the blivet** hooked on phonics infomercial.

"Don't disassemble to me." "I can smell disassembles in the air, Vern, can't you?" "He stood right there and disassembled again and again." :puke:

23. He says this stuff as if someone
just told him the definition, and he still got the word wrong. Seriously, I think he must have asked someone about the word, or they gave him the definition because they knew he would be clueless.
