Preparing to capitalize on the unthinkable?
In many states when a Senator resigns or passes away, the legislature may choose a Senator to fill the seat, and is not bound by the Party affiliation of the departing Senator.

Perhaps we ought to identify those states where there is a Blue legislature and at least one Red Senator, and have a campaign and a candidate prepared in case we have the opportunity to pirate a Senate seat in this manner?

1. Pennsylvania could be one of those states but I think we're safe there.
We're not sure how long Arlen Specter will last now that he's dealing with Hodgkins and you can be assured that Ed Rendell would never think of appoint anyone NOT from his own personal circle of close democrats.

We're thinking it'll be Barbara Hafer who gets the nod since she opted not to run against Bob Casey Jr. in the primaries for Rick Santorum's seat.
