Edited on Sat May-28-05 10:59 AM by carrowsboy
Like a child thrown into a dark room, the wildly lash out at anything cause they nothing else. Frist, McCain, Democrats, RINOs, it doesn't matter. They have yet to receive their talking points on who to hate next! Absolutely hilarious!

"Reid takes control of Frist's Senate"

Reply 1 - Posted by: OregonMuse, 5/28/2005 2:01:19 AM

Somebody (I forget who) earlier this week said that if the Senate had 99 Republicans and 1 Democrat, the Republicans would still be worrying about how to compromise and make deals with the 1 Democrat.

Reply 2 - Posted by: lelande, 5/28/2005 2:07:23 AM

We can always count on the democrats to lie. No activate the Constitutional Option and let's get on with it. I have a feeling that Frist is letting the dems hang themselves.

Reply 5 - Posted by: knub, 5/28/2005 2:20:45 AM

I think that if the democRATs continue to filibuster the Bolton appointment, Frist will call for the rule change.

Reply 8 - Posted by: arikari, 5/28/2005 2:44:46 AM

Tom Curry always spins big for Dems, but it is a disappointment. Frist has been wrung like a dishrag.

Reply 9 - Posted by: pallis, 5/28/2005 3:04:49 AM

McCain handed Frist's Senate to Reid. McCain is a traitor. Frist is weak. Reid is a zero who happens to be a beneficiary of McCain's deranged treachery.

Reply 10 - Posted by: flowerladytoo, 5/28/2005 4:27:18 AM

It's embarrassing to see how the Republicans have caved on these issues. Bunch of spineless wimps.

Reply 11 - Posted by: Cisco, 5/28/2005 4:59:22 AM

Yhe blood is in the water and the democrats will be in a frenzy until (and if) frist can pull republicans together enough to hand Reid a solid beating on an important issue.

The tone of the senate has completely changed since McCain and the Gang Of Seven rolled over for the democrats.

The democrats have been rejuvenated and I doubt they will cooperate enough to permit cloture on Bolton.

The president should have used the carrot and the stick to prevent the revolt of the compromisers and the resultant loss of control by Frist.
If Frist had been able to push the ban on judicial filibusters through tuesday the democrats would now be whipped.
Now they are crowing and Frist is seen as a paper tiger.

Thanks McCain......

Reply 12 - Posted by: Maybeth, 5/28/2005 6:08:40 AM

Not only has John McCain and his group of attackers slapped the president, he has turned his back on the voters who elected him to be their representative. He has done himself a disservice. He has shown Americans that he is untrustworthy as a leader. He would always sell out to the highest bidder. John McCain is a 'nothing,' .... a little nobody screaming for attention and USING anyone in his way to achieve fame.

Reply 13 - Posted by: Judge, 5/28/2005 6:40:16 AM

Im getting tired of the gutless republicans

Reply 17 - Posted by: Halfgenius, 5/28/2005 7:24:30 AM

I think we've been given a example of McCain's treachery of his days at the Hanoi Hilton. I'm begining to see just why he managed so well there and others didn't. He sold out to the enemy...just like now. Unless there is some proof contrary I think this could be shown to be the case. Just like Hanoiboi Kerry...both are rated as Heros and both were traitors. Kerry corraborated with the enemy and so did McCain. McCain stabbed us in the back and trashed the constitution with the CFR and nows he has stabbed us again. How much longer are we going to put up with him?

Reply 18 - Posted by: Daisymay, 5/28/2005 7:52:28 AM

My HOPE is that all SEVEN of the Turncoats will be back in their Home States during this Recess HEARING from the Voters and how angry they are with them. My HOPE is that they will have a NEW ATTITUDE when they return to Congress. The FILIBUSTER on Bolton blew their pat little GANG to smitherines. I hope Linsey Graham is getting an earful! My HOPE is that Frist will bring up BOLTON first thing and if he is FILIBUSTERED pull the Trigger on the Nuclear Option THEN AND THERE even though Bolton is not a Judicial Nominee. MAKE EVERYONE VOTE on the Record on this...no escaping it! Then move on to Judges because Judges and ALL NOMINEES fall under the same category in the CONSTITUTION, so the no filibuster rule will already be decided by Bolton. Then get on with THE PEOPLE'S business! Slap down Biden, Dodd and Reid!

Reply 19 - Posted by: just looking, 5/28/2005 7:58:11 AM

BE PATIENT!
Frist is a surgeon not a shrink!
McVain, Graham ETC. will get their's... Start supporting challengers like DeMint in Graham's case make them have PRIMARIES.
OHIO are you listening GET RID OF THOSE GIRLY MEN!

Reply 20 - Posted by: saryden, 5/28/2005 8:06:28 AM

I understand the frustration; but I am getting tired of having girls dissed on the cute comment of the CA Governor.

These seven (and some others) are RINO wimps and/or Socialist infiltrators. Socialists have taken control of the Democrat Party and are attempting the Republican Party.

Reply 21 - Posted by: The Phantom, 5/28/2005 8:10:44 AM

yes get rid of the girly men, and while at at deny another dewine his shot of fame for becoming elected as a republican would probably follow his daddy and become a voting democrat!

I am sure it runs iin the famliy so why take a chance on electing another democrat?

Reply 22 - Posted by: NorthernDog, 5/28/2005 8:12:09 AM

Thanks #1, I said that. The Republicans are fearful of leading and governing as they have been elected to do. '06 could be ugly.

Reply 23 - Posted by: auntdot, 5/28/2005 8:27:18 AM

In '94 Newt showed a bit of testosterone.

Now he is cozening up to Hillary. Guess something about him has dried out.

Am totally disgusted by the Republican party.

If these weenies think they can beat Hillary in '08, they had better start getting hormonal shots.

When they do, the first step will be to dump Frist.

Reply 24 - Posted by: Patman, 5/28/2005 8:29:38 AM

No. 1 Says it all. The Republicans both in the House and the Senate are allergic to power. We might as be in the minority.

As for Lindsay Graham..enjoy your tenure in the Senate for it most likely will be your last, too.

Reply 25 - Posted by: pensom2, 5/28/2005 8:54:26 AM

At least we don't yet have on this thread the nonsense replies about how the deal by the seven Republican turncoats is all a clever ploy by President Bush, the master poker player. Bush did his job by nominating good judges, and expected Frist to do his, by using his majority to approve the nominations. Frist dilly-dallied, trying to drum up support, while McCain stabbed Frist (and Bush) in the back to advance himself ahead of Frist.

Reply 26 - Posted by: fingerpicker, 5/28/2005 9:01:48 AM

Frist and Bush both know they have to get as many judges through while they can, because Hillary has a lock on 2008.

Just consider the combination of the media (+20 points), the womens' vote, the men who don't vote because they're pouting over whatever, the Lazio-effect which Hillary will use at every debate, the 25 percent who will vote for Hillary enthusiastically and perhaps more than once, the Independent candidate (McCain) ... I foresee landslide.

Reply 27 - Posted by: TheTech, 5/28/2005 9:02:27 AM

Exactly #25.

I am sick of The Senate DIMs, under Dingy Harry. Unfortunately, I have to tip my hat to Dingy. He out sleazed even Tiny Tommy Dsachle and the Murderer Ted "hiccup" Kennedy.

Get a spine, Republican Senators, or be voted out of office!

Reply 29 - Posted by: rk, 5/28/2005 9:09:17 AM

Democrats always lie and Gop always lie down.

Reply 34 - Posted by: Talk2, 5/28/2005 9:39:40 AM

There can be no doubt McCain and the RINO 7 handed the senate to the democrats and cut the legs from under Frist and the rest of the republican party. You cannot trust McCain.

Reply 35 - Posted by: cgood, 5/28/2005 9:40:25 AM

Actually, the dems antics have given the republicans much needed positive PR. Consider this: democrats have succeeded in their obstruction (again) through lies and trickery. They CHEATED. Americans don't view cheaters as winners. Reid has now earned the title of 'Dirty' Harry. Hardly admirable. Now we just need Frist to get out the message. Once our timid representatives believe public opinion is on their side, they may act like a majority. Not ideal, just realistic.

Reply 36 - Posted by: bill w, 5/28/2005 9:51:52 AM

What a pedestrian little man Reid is.

And Frist isn't much better.

Reply 39 - Posted by: Duke of Duval, 5/28/2005 10:05:05 AM

The seven stooges, RINOs, are sure in my signts for their next primary elections. I plan to offer money to their primary opponents like I did for Thune who by the way just pulled something yesterday smelling like RINO poo also. I may send him back his Christmas Card with my frustration written on it.

Reply 40 - Posted by: buckeye1, 5/28/2005 10:06:23 AM

Stop the whinning. During the election we were told ALL the things that Dubya got through the House and the Senate his first term. It was an impressive list!

This year he got the Artic Wildlife Drilling passed and is pressing Congress for Sosh Security reform. He will get SOTUS nominees that can shape the direction of the nation.

We are now dealing with a OPPOSITION party who is in total opposition. They are in the precess of DESTROYING themselves and we want to now turn our knives on our own people
and take a few of them out to help the Rats do their deed.

I would NEVER want to go to war with any of you folks who are so totally negative, self-defeating. I would never want to lead you into war either!

There are some people who look at the world through BROWN-colored glasses.

Reply 42 - Posted by: browneyes, 5/28/2005 10:12:07 AM

The Dems. are flailing about. Just who are 7 Dems? Landrieu, Nelson of Neb. Leiberman, Pryor, Byrd, ? & ?. They are not on the talk shows as have been the Warner/mccain cabal. When they do appear, they are changing the subject to things like "saving the Senate. or "we need comity".
They have 8 days to reflect on this debacle and when they get back, the 1st. thing will be "judges". Two, Brown & Pryor are "part of the deal" they made. The very next thin will be Bolton. The Dems have been denied the info by the WH. It WILL be "Constitutional option" time. Say a blessing for the Parlimentarian. He will become very important! He's a Repb.

Reply 43 - Posted by: farmwife, 5/28/2005 10:48:48 AM

Nobody ever said saving this republic from the clutches of the liberals was going to be easy. But if we haven't got the guts to persevere, we don't deserve the republic. The only thing we have to remember is that WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP! Not to Hillary, not to McCain, not to traitorous Senators on our own side. WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP! So, stop the negativism, pull up your pants and get back in the game!

Reply 44 - Posted by: ewcret, 5/28/2005 11:54:50 AM

You know we are in trouble when a girly-boy goes to the floor of the senate and starts sobbing. SOBBING for God's sake. What kind of spineless reprentatives are we sending. Boxer and Kennedy rave and rant, while Voinovich cries. What a picture.

3. wow, what a treasure trove of stupidity
Consider this: democrats have succeeded in their obstruction (again) through lies and trickery. They CHEATED. Americans don't view cheaters as winners.

Using a perfectly legal parliamentary measure is now "cheating"? And here I thought Republicans believed in the frequently-trumpeted Rule of Law...I'm devastated....
