Democratic Party "Critical Issues Survey"
I received the survey by email. Is this survey online someplace? If you have received it and submitted it, where did you get it from and where did you submit it to?

Any information on how this is working would be helpful.

5. Well at least two deal with fair elections
Electoral System Reform…,Accountability…
I think this is a very good thing for staying in touch with constituents. They get caught up in a world of their own in Washington DC and forget what goes on in real America. I look forward to receiving my survey.

7. Mine has to be in June 1
So I hope you get it soon.

I don't know if the deadlines are the same everywhere or what. Apparently, there will be tablulating of results on the local or state level before it reaches the DNC August 1.

I'm hoping somebody at DU has more information.

3. I've gotten surveys by mail
or at least cries for money disguised as surveys, like they really care what I think. The surveys are the same DLC inspired surveys that have been going out for years and that don't address many of my concerns as an unemployed worker in that particular hell called "partially disabled."

Is this one different?

9. Mine came from Democrats Abroad
But I hear it's in all of the states, too. I know people who've received it from local Dems, but most say they have not received it. I searched the DNC site, but wanted to know if it was online somewhere else, maybe.

From my email:

DEMOCRAT SURVEY
May 10, 2005

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Howard Dean has invited us, as well as each state's Democratic Party organization, to identify a priority list of issues/messages in order to build a coherent party message that truly reflects the concerns of all, not just the leaders or party activists. He wants this by August.

That and the list above is pretty much all I know about it.

10. Dean asked each state to come up with a "message"
Dems Abroad is considered a "state party".

My nderstanding is that each state will determine this message in its own way. I don't think there's one survey that will go to all Dems.

The DNC is meeting in September and Dean wants to have these state messages at that time so they can be consolidated into one Democratic Message for all to use.

11. Thanks
A few people I know in NYC have received the identical survey from Hillary Clinton as I received in Mexico from Dems Abroad. Probably there is one survey, but from what you say, the individual states are deciding whether to use it or not. Maybe it was provided as more of a guideline than anything.

Still, I think hearing from as many of us as possible would be a good way to go. People can always copy and paste and email their five choices to their state parties.

12. "People can always copy and paste and email their five choices ..."
I think that's a great idea.

Even if the state is doing something else it would be good to give them more information.
