The Scream By NYTimes.com
How do you spell defeat? Did Howard Dean's guttural roar in front of supporters after his third-place finish in Iowa begin with a "y" or an "r" ... or maybe an "a"? While print media scrambled to spell the yell, the audio and video clips of Dr. Dean's Monday night speech became fodder for both sides of the Dean debate. The anti-Dean camp, both Republicans and Democrats, claim that Dr. Dean's bellowing signifies an out-of-control temperament at the head of a failing campaign. Pro-Dean voters tend to see the media explosion surrounding the speech as evidence of a conspiracy to bring down their candidate.

1. those of us who support candidates other than Dean, should keep in mind ..
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 01:35 PM by meti57b
that this is how the media and rw are going to take down each of our candidates, should any of them do or say something offbeat or some other mis-step.

If this thing keeps going, it merits LTTE's objecting to media characterization of it.

2. why argue issues when you can personally attack enthusiasm?
I saw nothing wrong with Dean's enthusiasm. I love this man and his values and his stand on the issues. No one will write about his stand on the issues, because they know he would beat Bush so this must remain hidden.

Pro-Dean voters tend to see the media explosion surrounding the speech as evidence of a conspiracy to bring down their candidate.

You think? Especially when the media have deliberately overlooked stories about Republicans electronically spying on Democrats, the Iraqi weapons inspectors officially coming up empty, Bush's spotty military record, and Halliburton admitting to taking kickbacks?

This election won't be a replay of what the mainstream media did to Al Gore. We're wise to that now--fool us twice, shame on us. Let them go ahead and overplay their hand. Signs of a sympathy backlash are appearing already.

This article only flames democrats ....yes actually democrats read this snotty mucus. I just can't believe registered democrats would coven, post, and support such anti-demcratic propaganda articles for the soul purpose of reaching out and touching another. It is not typical.

I recommend democrats to go and watch the entire speeech, and see the truth, the whole truth and not the manlipulation.

I'd rather vote for a truthful democrat than *bush lite. This article is a reflection of pundant rhetoric.

Here see for yourself fellow democrats. It was a rally speech to the Dean supporters. I know, I was there....see for yourself.
