Senator Dole aligns herself with the White House & not the compromise.
Edited on Tue May-24-05 04:43 PM by Lex
.
Dole says she's disappointed and clearly Dole isn't aligning herself with McCain and the others who flipped Frist the bird last night. She is whining that they can "go nuclear" anytime they damn well choose.

She's still in the pocket of the White House.

All the Repuke Senators are going to have to eventually release statements essentially saying whether they are kissing up to Bush & Frist, or kissing up to McCain.

---------------

Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC), Chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, issued the following statement on the judicial compromise:

"Although I am pleased that some of the President's qualified judicial nominees are finally getting the fair up or down vote they deserve, I am disappointed that not all nominees will be afforded that same courtesy. The understanding made by the group of fourteen made clear that judicial philosophy is not a legitimate reason to filibuster qualified judges. If Democrats should choose to continue their unprecedented use of the filibuster, we should immediately move to the constitutional option. Although I believe a vote on the constitutional option was certainly justified today, I am glad that it has not been taken off the table for future confirmation debates."

1. She was not one of the seven who signed the compromise....
...was she. That would have been a red flag that repukes have no intention of keeping their word.

5. She repeats the outright LIE that the Democrats are using the filibuster
in an "unprecedented" way.

God, she's an evil POS.

14. After Viagra commercials, Pepsi commercials eying a teenage
Britney Spears and saying that John Kerry, who he knew for over 20 years, never bled, I don't know how anyone can say he has integrity or any decency.

4. This shouldn't surprise anyone
She's my Senator :scared: and she is 17 types of useless. Look at her hair, for goodness sakes. She is stuck in the 1950s! She trotted out her 80 year old mother to stump for her election.

The woman is useless and is a *ite all the way.

7. Like Norm Coleman in Minnesota,
Dole was handpicked by Rove. I don't like her husband, but I think she is 10 times worse than he is.

6. Bob Dole circa 1965
In 1965, Sen. Bob Dole stood on the floor of the United States Senate and filibustered Pres. Johnson's legislation for Medicare. Dole believed that it would turn the U.S, into a socialist state. These people are creeps.

10. Senator Dole still harbors the illusion that she is "presidential timber."
And she thinks she can appeal to the wing nuts. What she doesn't realize is the wingnuts will never support a prochoice woman (or man) for president.

I hadn't heard her actually spout the talking points today. . . . Mrs. Dole just earned herself yeta another hot email from me--one of her lucky "constituents." Good god, she makes me sick. Who knew that one day Bob Dole would start to look pretty good? . . .

17. She's nothing more than an opportunist
Didn't she make a comment during her husband's campaign that a woman's place is to stay home and raise families?

18. She's been a disappointment
I know she's only in her first term, but since she's already so well-known, didn't a lot of people expect more from her? I don't think she's made one bold move as a Senator.

Of course, this is the former Presidential candidate who saw the pinnacle of her campaign when she joined a kickline with a sorority in Iowa while the cameras were rolling.
