Tillman tragedy skewed - (Pvt. Lynch's) att'y
WASHINGTON - The Army's bogus early accounts on the death of NFL star and Army Ranger Pat Tillman mirrored the false first reports on the capture of Army Pfc. Jessica Lynch, her lawyer said yesterday.

"The Army tried to make Jessie out to be some kind of warrior when she was not," said lawyer Stephen Goodwin. "The Army liked the story of a 'Rambo Jane.' She debunked it right away."

In interviews with The Washington Post yesterday, Tillman's parents ripped the Army's chain of command for letting them and the country believe for weeks after his death in April 2004 that their son died leading an uphill charge against the enemy when he actually fell to friendly fire.

"It just keeps slapping me in the face," Mary Tillman said of the death of her 27-year-old son, a defensive back for the Arizona Cardinals who gave up a $3.6 million contract to join the Army after 9/11. "This lie was to cover image."

Boy, don't you just hate all these unpatriotic American families who won't "support our troops"?
