Hearings today on Media Bia. Does NYT, WaPost hire CIA ?

We all know about Walter Pincus's intelligence background, and event the WashTimes calls him a CIA 'staff reporter'. And WaPost's editor Ben Bradlee says in his book that his friend was Graham A. Martin. Who was this Martin guy ? Turns out he was a CIA ambassador/bagman !

Former ambassador to Thailand, appointed Nov. 1, 1963, Martin's adopted son Glenn Dill Mann was KIA in Vietnam in Nov 1965. Martin goes on to become ambassador to Italy--Nixon appointed this time-- (read heroin moneylaundering/VaticanBank) and you even see him mentioned in Penny Lernoux's book In Banks We Trust and David Yallop's In God's Name doing the 'bagman' job with Michele Sindona and other mafia characters.

Thailand as Golden Triangle source of opium was Wild Bill Donovan's ambassadorship in the 50's, setting up shop so to speak. With Cuba lost in 1959, the mob's concession had to move to SE Asia entirely --with Ted Shackley & co. Just read Alfred McCoy's Politics of Heroin and see for yourselves.

Martin then gets assigned to So.Vietnam for '73-75, and is on one of the last helicopters out, a hawk to the bitter end. The daughter-in-law of Glenn Dill Mann, Mary Fricker, goes on to write Inside Job: The Looting of America's Savings and Loans (see her bio in Contemporary American Authors vol. 134, showing marriage to Glenn Dill Mann). This is important because other books like Decent Interval by Frank Snepp and The Fall of Saigon by David Butler all show Martin's adopted son using the name Glenn Martin...however only Glenn Dill Mann was kia as a helicopter casualty in the war, all other Glenn Martin's kia in Vietnam died from other causes.

JFK assassination buffs will want to look at Martin's papers, stolen from the Saigon embassy in '75 and secreted away by Martin in a Rome, Italy, Dept of Justice safe. The cables ended up in ex-President Gerald Ford's library in TX see

" In January 1978, the North Carolina State Police found a cache of classified documents in the trunk of a car that had been stolen from former U.S. ambassador to South Vietnam Graham A. Martin. They turned the documents over to the FBI. The documents were embassy files Martin had taken with him when he evacuated Saigon on April 29, 1975, just hours before the city fell to the Communists. The Justice Department, in considering prosecuting Martin for misuse of classified documents, sent copies of the files to the National Security Council for a damage assessment. The copies remained in NSC files until 1982, when the NSC determined that they should have been considered presidential papers and sent them to the Ford Library."

With what Martin knew, and obvious ties to JFKs murder, it is no wonder these papers ended up in Gerald Ford's custody.

What is even scarier is that Mary Fricker is now a staff reporter for the NYTimes subsidiary (Santa Rosa, CA) Press Democrat newspaper. Which begs the question, exactly how many reporters are out there with a bias that favors hiding facts for 'company' projects', which is what the S&L fiasco was doing--laundering money for Iran-Contra and a long-standing project that David Yallop says was to fund neo-fascists in Italy in order to prevent NATO's southern flank from going communist. US taxpayers, many of whom were fleeced in the process, as usual pay the bill.
