I Don't Think Owens, Brown Pryor Are Automatically "In"
Maybe some angry repugs, realizing bu$h, cat-killer, etc., are indeed lame ducks (& lame asses), will figure that they can cast their votes in a more independent manner, and will be more likely to vote that way. I realize this could mean the opposite, but hey, you never know . . .

1. Keep the Optimism!
I, for one, desperately need it since I was despairing last night.

I'm truly, truly scared for our democracy and the Dem "leadership" sure isn't easing my concerns.

4. Not necessarily. That might have been part of the deal.
I would not be surpised if some of the repubs in that moderate group vote no on one of these judges. I could have been part of the "trust" part they kept talking about.

9. LOL!
I wonder if the agreement covers him too. Wouldn't that be the ultimate, lovely irony- for us to be saved by the independent from Vermont? Calling all screenwriters... :)

6. Graham said one will likely not be confirmed
I am hoping that he is right. That will make the deal a great deal.

7. Let's keep it all simple....
the dems should be filibustering the crap out of ANY nominee that is unacceptable, period! We can't really win either way, so I say you go down fighting for the American people. Maybe, just maybe, they'll show their appreciation in '06. The fact of the matter is that when we allowed the '04 election to be stolen, we lost the ability to keep our courts clear of these wackos. One way or another, with this bunch they were going to get through. I don't know how any of the dems besides DINO's like Lieberman can stand to look at their fellow senators every day. How can you have any respect for someone who supports a piece of sh** like BushCo???

8. I would be very surprised if they are ALL not confirmed.

THis was a terrible deal for the Dems. THs issue will come back again during the Supreme Court nominee, but the Repub judges they wanted confirmed will be. Maybe "one" for a Rovian show wil lbe denied, but Bush wil lsend one equally as extremist. When are they going to wake up, and realize you don't broker deals to acqueisce and allow extremsists on the bench. if they're gonna win, make them pay for it with the voters. We've just given them an out. Makes me sick.
