2. Frist and the WH need to show McCain and the other 6 who is in
charge - it isn't them.

Buchanan wants Frist to try to get a vote on ALL seven, not just three.

5. Buchanan thinks he's a wise elder statesman
and everyone hangs on to his words. What a dope.

8. I do have ONE good thing to say about Buchanan...
When the results of the "Butterfly Ballots" came out of Florida, he was quick to admit that there was no way thousands of old Jewish people voted for him on purpose.

Very few politicians today wear their anti-semitism on their sleeve where everyone can see it.

Ah, you've got to admire that sort of honesty.

17. That's not quite right!
Buchanan was simply copping to the fact that he is perceived by some to be anti-semitic, and therefore Jews are not likely to vote for him.

Not quite the same as saying that he is in fact anti-semitic...

19. What about the time Pat Buchanan ate a Jewish baby on live TV?
OK, I made that up.

I see your point, though.

6. This "compromise" is not a solution.
It has just given the Republicans a chance to get it off of the national consciousness. Later on (and they hope, with less fanfare) the Republicans will kill the filibuster. All the Democrats have done is postpone the "nuke", and now when it happens it will be, "Ho hum, this is all old news. What's that crazy Michael up to now?" The opportunity to really make the Republicans look bad to most of the country has been missed - just my opinion...

9. "Peace in our time!"
In 1938, Prime Minister Chamberlain went to Munich and gave Hitler a free hand to partition Czechoslovakia. He received guarantees that Hitler had "no more territorial ambitions." He flew back to London, stood outside the plane, waved a piece of paper, and proclaim, "Peace in our time."
Of course, "our time" lasted until September 1939.

11. LOL! I'm sorry. I know it is not very nice of me, but....
I am really loving this feeding frenzy. The Republican cannibalism is amusing to say the least. Hopefully this weakness will be exploited for political advantage. Hey, I can be a realist bitch when I have to be.

13. I heard that this morning
I almost spewed my coffee when Buchanan questioned whether Frist had "cajones" to stand up to McCain and show him who was running the place.....

I love the smell of party dissention in the morning....It smells like VICTORY!.

14. Don't get your hopes up for crocodile tears
These snakes are crying because they only stole a half a loaf when they thought they could get it all with one bite. The only thing accomplished in this whole charade is showing how much they could get them pseudo-Dem's in the senate to knuckle under. They will now be able to use guise of legislation to screw people even more. This purported loss of the ground for the Cat-Man will be used in many ways. After all do you think any of these low-lifes would compromise just on merit?
