An Imam was invited to read a prayer last night

at our local city council meeting. I missed it, but in the newspaper it says the mother of a soldier who served in Iraq got all pissed off and said it wasn't right to be reading muslim prayers during a war with Iraq... wtf???? I thought this wasn't a war against Islam???

Here's some of what she said when she went to the podium:


"My son went to Afghanistan--now he's in Iraq."
"He's fighting for his country. I'd like to know where are you from and why you're not fighting for your country?"

"There's a war going on. It's in very bad taste we have veterans here and we're listening to this prayer? Shame on us all."

1. Actually, Ma'am, there are a number of older and more mature

soldiers being recalled up and sent over to Iraq. I suggest someone send HER the enlistment papers since she wants to fight against Islam so badly...

2. Plenty of people see it as a war against Islam

and although many of them know that they are supposed to pretend it isn't, she didn't get that memo.
