I'm diggin' Dean on MTP
Get the mote out of your own eye. I love it.

I think he's doing pretty well against the Gotcha Guy.

Right now he's talking about infrastructure, electing Dems from the local level on up, and his goals on the personnel he wants in place.

This is why I supported him. This is where I think he belongs. I'm not looking for him to go after the Republicans hard rhetorically. I'm looking for him to unseat some Republicans and take back the country.

I support Howard Dean as DNC Chairman. I just felt like I needed to be out, loud and proud on that opinion, esp. tonight.

3. Because I was never a Dean supporter
and the Dean supporters need to know that non-Deaniacs care what's going on with Dean as well.

Defending Dean: It's not just for Deaniacs anymore.

4. Good for you; count me in as well
I thought he did great.

And he simply can't do EVERYTHING. Some here to be expecting perfection and a higher standard than they'd apply to any other human being -- but of course, there are those here who will criticize Dean no matter WHAT he does.

5. The people who are critical of him on this board
Should realize that most viewers of that show don't watch through the same lens as a typical DUer. I think the average person would say he did a great job getting his point across.

7. What stupid questions from Russert
Edited on Sun May-22-05 10:05 PM by Strawman
Yep. That's what's wrong with this country, Tim: Howard Dean was unfair and mean to Tom Delay. Talk about disingenuous. Let's see Tim, who do you think cares more about due process, Dean or Delay? Imagine for a second Tim, that you are a mentally challenged. Let's also say that you are black. You are falsely accused of a crime. Where would you prefer to be tried in Tom Delay's Texas or Howard Dean's Vermont? Your lawyer slept through your murder trial. Who would you rather have hear your appeal for clemency? Fuck you Russert.

If he could, Tom Delay would have every Democrat and non-fundamentalist Christian in this country subject to criminal sanction by the state. Now all of a sudden he's the poster child for civility and due process and Howard Dean's the bad guy who loves Osama bin Laden and hates poor little Tom Delay. Bullshit. No Tim, overstatements and poor word selection aren't what are poisioning our political discourse. It's de-contextualized, distorted bullshit like your "fair and balanced" hardball questions that are.

8. Oh yes Dean don't you think it's appalling
that you said that Delay belongs in jail. You don't think Osama should be prejudged, so why Delay?

What the fuck was that?!?!?

10. Gov. Dean on MTP
Today is the first time since the election that I have turned on Meet The Press. I've avoided Russert, Tweety and all the rest of these turncoats. Something prompted me this morning to watch MEET THE PRESS. I didn't know that Howard Dean was going to be on. I'm glad I watched.

Howard Dean was strong, articulate and more than a match for Tim Russert.

I was not a Deaniac, but I have always liked and admired Howard Dean. I thought early on that he would be the ideal National Chairman. Hearing him today made me feel ready for a fight. I've had about enough of listening to newsmen and politicians PANDERING to these Republicans. Dean said what I think.. These Republicans CAN'T be trusted with our money, but they DO have a better organization and grass roots strategy, and if we are going to take back the Country, we'll have to bolster our organization and revise our tactics.

Anyone who picks up a paper, goes on line or turns on a tv newscast must see the hypocrisy, the misleading statements, the heavy handedness of this administration and their followers. I won't even START on the situation in Iraq.

Give 'em hell, Howard. I was proud to be a Democrat today!

11. Things for Dean to work on
I also like the Dean as the DNC chairman. However, I think the top of his list of things to get done should be preventing voter fraud. Republican Secretaries of State and electronic voting without paper tallies are our biggest threat now. Even if we get the votes, they prevent the correct count. California looks like the next ploy--I hope someone in the DNC has got this on their list of things that must be handled. Getting locals to run won't make a difference if the votes for them don't get counted.

13. Russert's ass-wipe-ishness was on full display today.
Howard held his ground and did not back off. It was much better than the last time I saw him on the show (in the frontrunner days).
