Are the "insurgents" in Iraq getting ready for their own Tet ?
In the next couple of weeks, will they plan an all-out assault on the new Iraqi government and also the US troops that are in that country? The timing could not be better. I sense some of the same shit that was in the air in 1968 in Vietnam. I remember it well. Will this Administration be asleep at the wheel once again?

1. They will welcome it.
It is what they need to fortify their resolve. Remember who stands to gain from Iraq? War profiteers, they are salivating over the prospect of an out and out weeks long offensive/counteroffensive. Then they get to role in and replace all the toys that were destroyed.

2. I remember Tet too, Kentuck.
I had just been out of Cam Ranh convalescent center (3 AK holes) for a couple of days & was on perimeter guard on a little LZ in the Nui Mieu Mtns along the seacoast in II Corps & watched the fireworks turn to tracers in 4 villages in different directions from our hilltop. I later saw what was left of Hue when we went through on our way up to Camp Evans & Khe Sanh.

I almost never think about those events of 37 or 38 years ago, & dunno what inspired me to write all this, but I guess I too have that deja vu thing going too. Yeah. I wonder what the next few days, and the next month will bring.

3. I was near Phan Rang at that time also..
I was in Cam Ranh right after that but wasn't injured. The White Horse Division was on the perimeter over in the mountains and we were "visiting" them with some "intelligence".

4. This is All Tet All The Time!!!
They certainly have a lot of targets, 26 million of them.

Someone said 'this is a very rough neighborhood, you go there at your own peril.' Now why don't we have people that smart in the WH?

The answer in three words: TWO STOLEN ELECTIONS!!!

5. Seems that the goal of the Insurgency is....
wearing down of the political will of most Iraqis and Amerikans to continue to support the Shi'ite & Kurd dominated Iraq Govt. funded and controlled by the Bush Junta.

9. 'getting ready'?
It's been one long slow motion Tet since they threw rose petals at our 'liberating' forces.
