Quick: name the seven judicial nominees and the benches open

Now count how many times tonight, or by next Weds, you hear the terms "Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee" and "vote" used in the same sentence in the media. I heard it 4 times in a half hour tonight, on NPR. edit to add: "Democrats...filibuster... obstruct.... goverment shut-down" also thrown in for good measure

Frist is gonna ride this dog-and-pony show to the WH. Its a set-up.

and he has friends in black boxes.

edited to add: was just pondering the roll Bob Dole played in the Senate as GOP go to hatchet man. He did what the party asked of him, however mean spitited. Was thinking that Frist was 'Bob Dole The Next Generation' and like Bob, the years of playing the bad guy would cost him.

This battle was lost when Frist appeared in the video or conference call to the fundy church leaders. Bob Dole, despite being from Kansas, was not a fundy favorite.

Make no mistake, Frist is lining up the crosses in a row and the Dems like bowling pins. Now he has the media lured in to his splashy sirens song (count how many times tonight you hear the Senate rule explained. Count how many times the word "arcane" is used)

I hate to sound so pessimistic, but I've seen it all before. We are being "gored"
