"The president reported having at least $4.95 million in Treasury notes, $750,000 in certificates of deposits and $217,000 in checking and money market accounts."

http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050517/NEWS/50517007

compare this with:
"There is no trust 'fund' just IOUs that I saw firsthand," Bush said."

and several paragraphs later:
"The pieces of paper he saw are not real Treasury securities. In today's computer age, investors no longer get honest-to-goodness Treasury bonds they can hold in their hands. But, by law, the bureau creates paper bonds to put in the file cabinet just in case anybody, like Bush, wants to see the trust fund."

2. $6 million, with about 4% in "checking and money market accounts."
So if stocks are supposed to be such a great retirement investment, why the hell does he have less than 5% of his reported worth in the stock market?!?

4. Would be ironic if some of Shrub's bonds came out of OUR S.S. lock box?
After all, he DOES consider everything that's OURS is HIS.

7. Send that question to Senators Boxer, Dorgan, and Durbin
and to whoever on the House side is the point person on SS--that wouldn't be my rep, Boswell, though. He's to busy shining Hastert's shoes.
