Contact: Karen Finney 202-863-8148 DNC RELEASES WEB AD: "CHANGING THE RULES WITH BILL FRIST"
Washington, DC - Today, the Democratic National Committee emailed an Internet Flash animation advertisement to more than 3 million supporters that highlights Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's attempt to re-write 200-year-old rules to put a handful of right-wing judges on the federal bench.
The ad emphasizes that Frist's egregious rule breaking is part of a concerted effort to use his position as Senate Majority Leader to build right-wing support for his presidential primary bid in 2008. The spot also includes an interactive component that allows viewers to compete against the rule-breaking Senate Majority Leader in a simple game of tic-tac-toe.
"The true constitutional option is for Senate Majority Leader Frist to do his job, not build right-wing support for his Presidential Primary campaign," said DNC spokesman Josh Earnest. "Partisan wrangling and politically motivated rule- breaking are not at the top of the agenda for America's families. That's why Democrats want the Senate to address skyrocketing gas prices, rising health care costs and the softening economy."
Democrats want Senator Frist to set aside his political ambitions and focus on the issues that American families are really concerned about.

"Changing the Rules with Bill Frist" DNC Web Ad
Narrator/Girl: When Billy Frist was just a lad he liked to get his way. And, if a game he'd start to lose, he'd change the rules of play.
Frist: I win!
Narrator/Girl: He felt among the chosen. He'd not be someone's fool. If at first you don't succeed, then go and change the rules.
Frist: I win again!
Child: Hey, that's not fair.
Narrator/Girl: He learned from those who knew the way, how best to use the tools. They knew the way to get things done, by making up new rules.
Cheney: Sigh. (Let's give him four.)
Narrator/Girl: We've always lived within the rules of governing the state. Let's focus on the country now, not your chances in '08. Unfortunately for us, the Republican power grab is not child's play. Click here to learn more about why preserving our 200-year-old system of checks and balances is so important.
