“God bless America is a prayer, and I believe that George Bush ..."
God bless America is a prayer, and I believe that George Bush is God’s answer to that prayer.” -- Norm Coleman, 2002

That was the welcome Bush received in 2002 from Republican senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota. Coleman has led the senate investigation into George Galloway’s alleged oil dealings.

It's been said that God answers all prayers, and sometimes that answer is "No."

Mr. Coleman, a former Zell Miller Democrat, seems to confirm this.

1. Well, Norm does have nice teeth now.

There, I said something nice about him.

2. I know several people in MN who voted for him
just because the Memorial Service for Wellstone was so politicized and for no other reason. They would have probably voted differently if that had not been so. They're regretting it now, but it is too late, the damage has been done.

is a blasphemer.

"God Bless America" isn't a prayer either. It's a demand, and a boast, but there is nothing prayerful about it

4. Personally, I don't believe any "Dear Santa" request is a prayer.

If one is truly grounded in faith, all prayers must then be thankful - expressions of faith and gratitude. The presumption that one is obliged to remind or petition The All for selective attention or special favor is a reprehensible repudiation of faith, imho.
