RE: Newsweek - We don't know what we don't know
and sometimes we like it like that. The bravest in America in my opinion are Seymour Hersh and Newsweek and anyone else who reports on the ugly side of the home team in any war. The only reason some older Germans are able to live with themselves in some semblance of reality regarding WWII is that they tell themselves over and over - "we didn't know, if only we had known . . ." And then what? The bigger uglier truth is that, then ,nothing. And we are no different.

Let us pray ( yes, you! you ungodly secular!) that Newsweek does not now fall onto the media refuse heap smoldering with CBS kindling. Goodness! Who is that with the charcoal lighter? It's a shadowy figure, Hitchcockian in it's profile. Some call it Rove. Others call it Rovian. Someday, hopefully, we will recognize it before it leaves another stinking corpse of an unfettered media in it wake.
