Rumsfeld: Base Closures to Save $48.8B (over 20 years)
That's his big argument. Pardon my rant, but how do these idiots even keep a straight face when they spew this garbage? $48.8 billion over 20 years is minuscule compared to the amount of money this president and his cronies have blown over the last 44 months.

Then there's this:

"WASHINGTON, May 11, 2005 - The Defense Department's Office of Economic Adjustment works with communities to help them through the base closing process and help them transform."

Whole towns will close down. Won't that take a bite out of Rummy's big selling point, the 48.8B? Or, will they throw the poor towns people a pittance so they can start their own businesses on Ebay?

Meanwhile...Shrub got off his tricycle this afternoon long enough to plunge us and our children and grandchildren even deeper into debt.

Bush Approves $82 Billion Supplemental

"WASHINGTON, May 12, 2005 – President Bush signed into law on May 11 legislation that provides $82 billion in supplemental funding, most of it to help cover the cost of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Story...http://www.defenselink.mil/news/May2005/20050512_1044.html

:puke: I am sick to death of all of them.

4. But
Republicians love the military and only want to increase it. Oh wait, workers have livable incomes. Can't have that, let's ruin small town economies.

5. Love how they play with the numbers
Gee, a guy working forty hours a week at minimum wage over 20 years will gross:

$218,400. See, those making minimum wage will be rich if they just save all their money.

/sarcasm
