25. Democratic Symbols
From Wikipedia

"In the early 20th century, the traditional symbol of the Democratic Party in Midwestern states such as Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio was the rooster, as opposed to the Republican eagle. This symbol still appears on Kentucky and Indiana ballots."

16. It's standing still because
it's afraid that the Repubs will call it a bad name if it does anything. Much better to just stand silently and unnoticed.

Give us a kicking donkey... maybe it will give some of our Dem leaders a clue as to what they should be doing!!

A stubborn, braying jack-ass is what I think of everytime I see it.

Wish we had something a bit loftier... like an eagle

On edit... And don't get me started on the elephant!

15. The donkey as a totem animal.
This is an excerpt from my book of totem animals.

Ancient people revered the donkey because it was an important part of thier survival.Rather easily domesticated, wherever found this beast of burden was held in high esteem as a friend of mankind.

In India the sacred King Ravinia had a crown made of ten human heads that was surmounted by the head of a donkey. In Egypt the donkey was the symbol of the sun god ra, and the god set bore the head of a donkey on his shoulders. The Donkey was also sacred to the greek god Dinosysus.

The mighty Hebrew hero Samson slew the phillistine with a jaw bone of an ass after Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem it became a powerful christian symbol. The dark cross of hair across the donkeys shoulders was thought to be an everlasting reminder in it's role in the passion of the christ.

If the donkey is your totem helper it means your a serious goal minded person with an eye for small details. It means your also practical and goal orientated into your earthly pursuits

It is also the sign of a workaholic and it can mean that your spending too much time away from recreation family and friends. As a spirit guide the donky will help you with solid sensible advice on a quest toward higher awareness.

That is excerpted from Totems by Brad Stieger. I rearranged some words around so you all know. So what do you think does it fit our party?

20. Cool!
I have a book "Animals Speak" by Ted Andrews. I am going to look it up and post it here when I am home.

Thanks for posting. Very interesting!!

We could try lexigraming out of the word "donkey"

For example: The word "Elephant" consists "Heal The Planet" within. Or "Help The Planet". Strange for Republicians who usually do not care for the Planet Earth. They are ignoring a true message???

Anyone want to try this with "Donkey"? I am at work and have to get busy. :)

21. donkey emblem
I don't like the emblem of a donkey, no matter how it's designed. It's not a noble beast. It makes one think of a jackass. A better choice is needed. It would be more suitable, nowadays, to have a chicken. And when we get our spine back and begin to fight and organize, then maybe a buffalo, a truly American symbol of strength.
