Sent an email to Bob Kincaid with our threads about Senator Byrd
Edited on Thu May-12-05 04:00 PM by eleny
Bob Kincaid has a liberal talk radio show in West Virginia weekday nights. His streaming audio has a link here on the Latest page at DU when he comes on the air at 7 to 10 PM Eastern Time Monday thru Friday. Here's his url in case anyone is interested in listening later. http://www.headonradio.com/

I know he's on the same time as Majority Report. But it's so refreshing to hear local W. Virginian liberals calling in. Gives me hope that the South isn't totally a lost cause.

I sent Bob an email the other day during his program and he read it on the air. So he does read emails. Today, I sent him 4 urls for the DU threads here today about Byrd's speaking on the floor - just in case Bob didn't see Byrd. Bob has a nice, slower paced show where he gives lots of time to his callers.

1. Good for you!
I'll try to catch the end of it tonight (if I get home in time!)

W. Virginia should be proud of Byrd!

2. Ben archives his program at White Rose, too
So, it's easy to catch up on his broadcasts. There's so much good left radio these days!

3. Byrd was Outstanding once again on the floor of the Senate today.....
So sad that there isn't another one like him coming up. He's the last of a dying breed of Senator who has some "horse sense i.e. common sense" and a gift of oratory.

It's sad that so many don't even listen to him on the Senater floor. He had to call "order" a couple of times because many view him as an old geezer who is talking into the breeze. But, he knows and remembers "compromise" and he honors the contitution and while I might be to the left of Senator Byrd he would honor that I had my own opinion and respect it. There aren't any there who can bring us back to the "checks and balances" days of US Government like he can.

:toast: to Senator Byrd who told them if they voted for Iraq War Resolution and gave Bush those "terrible powers to use" that the Senate might as well hang out a sign: "Gone Fishing" because they would have given it ALL AWAY. And, he was correct. They gave it all away to Bush.

:-(

4. I remember him calling for order, too
One other highlight was when he started talking about Aaron Burr in 1805-6. Talk about context!

5. Kick...for Senator Byrd...he doesn't have long time left on this earth...
Good for him to have spent it "wisely," attacking the Bush Crime Empire.

6. Kincaid read DU today
He replied to my email and then went to peek at the Byrd threads. He was so happy to see how people from all over the country appreciate Byrd and some wished they had a senator like him. I hope Bob catches on around here. He's one of those local radio broadcasts with lovable regular local callers.
