88. Online poll: 75% against Bolton confirmation
From AOL

Should John Bolton be confirmed as U.N. ambassador?
No 75%
Yes 23%
Undecided 2%
Total Votes: 29,730

Probably note scientific in that it's not weighted towards the president like the Nov 2nd exit polls were.

12. Luger what an Ass Clown
His biggest defense of Bolton so far is that if any one of us were put up to this scrutiny, we also would have chinks in our armor. Who here hasn't ran down and threw things at a competitor after forcing his wife into group sex? What a joke, I can't wait till the Dems tear this testimony to shreds. Also why isn't this thing on cable? What a joke.

47. My message:
As I listened to you at the hearing on John Bolton I began to compose a message to you in my mind. Sadly it's an entirely different message that I now send.

As you went into all the reasons why this was not the best man we could send to the UN I thought "Now here is a statesman. He's not going to vote in lockstep with his party members. He knows this is terribly wrong and he's going to vote his conscience. Bravo. He deserves the thanks of all American citizens, no matter what party they support."

And then, in the last sentence I heard you say words to the effect of "But I won't impose my feelings/opinion on my senate colleagues" and everything changed.

It's a shame.
You came so very close to real statesmanship.
So close.
And such a disappointment.

Senator Voinovich,

Having just heard your comments on the Bolton nomination on C-Span, I'm very disappointed. Of course John Bolton is the wrong person from the job! Why not show some backbone and vote against him in the committee? Sending it to the full floor assures an affirmative vote for Bolton.

I truly believe you wanted to paint the illusion of integrity. We're not buying it.

We need to spread the crap that the Republicans in Congress are doing to the American people and get more allies for this.

A poll showed that most Americans don't know much about either Bolton or the judges nuclear option going on.

The Bush has corporate news and the force the presidency can bring to bear on Senators, but through mixed forums we can reach a lot of Americans.

threatened to run ideologues against any Republicans that don't follow the party line.

A Republican targeted by their own party doesn't stand a chance.

The only way it's going to change is if Republicans and Dems alike put the peoples' best interest in front of their party or the president. And stop bowing to threats.

giving the testimonial.

Once it hit the newspapers, he quickly paid for the service and the testimonial was taken off the web site.
