Naomi Klein: How to End the War
<snip>

We need to offer a detailed and responsible exit strategy in order to draw the majority of Americans who oppose the war into the anti-war movement.

Editor's Note: The following essay is adapted from remarks made at the National Teach-in on Iraq sponsored by the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C. The teach-in was held on March 24, the 40th anniversary of the first teach-in on the Vietnam War, which was held at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

The central question we need to answer is this: What were the real reasons for the Bush administration’s invasion and occupation of Iraq?

When we identify why we really went to war—not the cover reasons or the rebranded reasons, freedom and democracy, but the real reasons—then we can become more effective anti-war activists. The most effective and strategic way to stop this occupation and prevent future wars is to deny the people who wage these wars their spoils—to make war unprofitable. And we can’t do that unless we effectively identify the goals of war.

2. Naomi Klein
She of the Put Al Gore Into Earth Tones notoriety. A professional "feminist" with no credentials that I ever identified, and now she's got it down pat - people need to know why Ratface took our kids to war.

To quote my kids: Duh.

What arrogance. What stupidity.

That women needs to go far, far away. She knows nothing, and that excerpt proves it.

5. Naomi KLEIN's biography
Born in Montreal in 1970, Naomi Klein is an award-winning journalist and author of the international best-seller No Logo: Taking Aim at the Brand Bullies. Translated into twenty-five languages, No Logo was called by the New York Times "a movement bible." In 2000, the Guardian newspaper short-listed it for their First Book Award, and in 2001 No Logo won the Canadian National Business Book Award and the French Prix Médiations. Naomi Klein's articles have appeared in numerous publications, including The Nation, The New Statesman, Newsweek International, the New York Times, the Village Voice and Ms. magazine. She writes an internationally syndicated column for The Globe and Mail in Canada and The Guardian in Britain. A collection of her work, titled Fences and Windows: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the Globalization Debate, was published in October 2002. For the past six years, Klein has traveled throughout North America, Asia, Latin America and Europe, tracking the rise of anticorporate activism. She is a frequent media commentator and university guest lecturer. In the fall of 2002, Klein was a Miliband Fellow at the London School of Economics.

10. And not even Naomi Wolf, really
Visit the incomparable site of The Daily Howler to find out what Naomi Wolf actually did and didn't do, and how our good friends in the liberal media fudged, fumbled and faked their way through a pleasing story:

9. Here is the plan for ending the War on the Iraqi People.
It really is THIS simple.

"We need to support the people of Iraq and their clear demands for an end to both military and corporate occupation. That means being the resistance ourselves in our country, demanding that the troops come home, that U.S. corporations come home, that Iraqis be free of Saddam’s debt and the IMF and World Bank agreements signed under occupation."

Why can't the Democratic Party support this plan?
Because certain segments of the Democratic Party are working for the BIG CORPORATIONS that are IN Iraq killing Iraqis for PROFIT and to further the privatization of the WORLD!.
