Air Force wants to promote Religious Zealot
from one star general to two star general. Brig General John Weida, number two officer at the Air Force Academy has stated, amongst other things, that "Cadets were accountable first to their God." Now, this man whom the Air Force wants to promote has to have his emails cleared by his bosses before he can send them. A one star general can't be trusted to send out emails and the air force wants to promote him???

FYI, the United States Senate must confirm all such promotions if you want to take a minute and notify yours of your thoughts on the subject.

12. Yep, and soon they'll be after "the heretics" and the free thinkers.
Seriously, that's what many RW zealots want, to kill everyone and "let God sort it out".

3. Jeez whats up with the officer corp these days

Seems like all the good people aren't a part of it anymore. I had a friend who was about to graduate from college and get her commission but during the last FTX they went on she was like a couple pounds "overweight". So she was given a deadline to drop it, when she didn't meet it she was dropped from the course and pretty much screwed since she had to pay back the money that the Army had paid for her college.

But yeah she would of made a fine officer, cause she actually had her own opinions and saw the BS that this war was going to be(this was right before we went into Iraq when Duh-byah was rattling his sabre). Heck she almost talked me into going back to school and applying for the ROTC program (we were dating at the time).

I really think our officer corp needed people like her, but instead it seems to be filled with the opposite.

6. I was one of MANY "Draft Motivated Volunteers" During Vietnam
and I think that our military was a better organization when it was "diverse" and reflected the (political, ethnic, religious, regional; and, to some extent, albeit not enough, the educational and economic) diversity the USA. I also believe the military should reflect the gender/gender orientation diversity of the USA.

BUT THAT'S PROBABLY THE ONLY ADVANTAGE OF CONSCRIPTION THAT I CAN THINK OF

8. It's a sign of the times
Prior to the invasion of Iraq, those generals and admirals that had
agreed with General Shinseki, on what would be needed to actually win, retired.

The officer corps is slowly being filled with men and women whose loyalty to BushCo and this administration, is more important then
their allegiance to this country and to the U.S. Constitution.

The general in his own words has shown where his allegiance lies, it lies with his God, not his country. He is in my view a traitor, and should be asked quietly to retire. If it were up to me he would be court martialed and sent to prison.

But he'll get that star because Bush will okay it and the Repukes and even some of the Dems will nod like a bobble head doll and rubber stamp it.

The US military is placing future Sepp Dietrich's, Jodl's, Himmler's,
and Goering's into positions of command, not because they love this country and all that it is supposed to stand for, but because they are loyal to their leader.

Heaven help us, and the rest of the world.

9. Agreed was just thinking after I posted that, how it seems we may have
witnessed a "bloodless" purging of the officer corp, and the leadership of our military. If this is the sign of things to come and all attempts to stop it from happening fail, heaven help us and the rest of the world indeed.

On another forum, there is a pagan libertarian that swears the religious nuts will never control the Republician party nor gov. He already has a degree but somehow got into the AF Academy. Hope he has fun.

10. Most Americans are unaware of the highly politicized officer corps in
all branches of service. We've reached the point of fascism when we have General Boykin sitting in his fundie church on Sunday wearing his uniform going apeshit about the End Times battle against evil and then calling on his loyal Southern Baptist staff to get him some air support from General Weida's Pentacostal pilots.

Make no mistake about where some of these highly politicized military folks are at-it certainly isn't our US Constitution for some of them.

We are being governed by American fascists whether they are in or out of uniform. But it's the RW fundie fruitcake militarists that have most helped this American fascist stealth coup.
