Glad to see our Gov. Warner (VA) doing well, particularly in a mostly red state.

3. Daniels ratings are not so good.
Ironically, Mr. Former Bush Budget Director tried to RAISE taxes, IIRC.

2. My IL Dem governor is doing bad
Illinois Blagojevich-D 36%/54%

If numbers like these continue he will be looking at a primary challenge.

6. There are credible challengers
Edited on Tue May-10-05 11:30 PM by tritsofme
but they are fairly moderate and would have a tough time winning the primary.

That's why there is talk among the GOP brass of forgoing a primary and putting out a unity slate in 2006.

Blago's advantage is that he has a huge fundraising lead on everyone, but millions of dollars won't save you if your approval rating is under 40%.

4. Ehrlich is on his way out...
His base is eroding and the people of Maryland are tired of his shit. Heck, just the other day a Republican State Senator retired because he could'nt put up with Ehrlich's obstructionism. He's done, stick a fork in em'.

18. He ain't that well liked, it would appear
38% approve, 48% disapprove. When half the voters are negative, that's bad news for him.

running for prez in 2008! What a joke! He thinks he can do it if Clinton did. This twit simply can not EVER be prez. He would be worse than Bush.

19. What?
You voted for Gallagher?

Huffington was a FAR superior candidate.

Gallagher's a DINO.

Let's fight the recall election all over again!

Haven't done THAT in a while!

23. gallagher wanted to secede from the union and...
then appeal to the united states (sans california) for foreign aid! :+
also some other transportation madness about trains and buses and zepellins. even if he's a DINO, he'd be an insane DINO and i don't mind living in a warped, over-creative, distopia. :7

11. Wow!
Are those RECENT poll numbers? The way our local media have been crowing about all of *itch Daniels' recent legislative "accomplishments" and giving Dems hell for having the guts to walk out briefly during this legislative session to try to put the kibbosh on some particularly bad legislation (that unfortunately ended up getting passed anyway), I would've thought that his polls numbers would be much higher than 42%, especially since the GOP is running the entire show. We just got done with a farsical legislative session where the top issues were:

1.)Anti-Gay Marriage Constitutional Amendment(it can't be ratified by referendum for some time however and that is only if it gets passed in another legislature)
2.)Daylight Savings Time (who cares?)
3.)New taxpayer-financed sports arena for the Indianapolis Colts

The local media (The Indianapolis Star) is acting as though Daniels is some kind of hero for getting these things passed. For anybody that does not know, it SUCKS to be a Dem here in Red State Indiana (even the Dems here are pretty conservative by national standards) but Indianapolis-Marion County, where I live, actually seems to be trending a bit more Democratic in recent years. I believe that the county actually went for Kerry in the last election and we elected a Dem, Bart Peterson, for Mayor in 1999, the first Dem since Uni-gov went into effect back in the 60's.

15. I Live in New Jersey
I see that the approve/disapprove rating for Codey is very close. I find this hard to believe.

He is our acting Governor and I like him. He has done good things for New Jersey in a short period of time.

Looking forward to Jon Corzine as my next governor. :-)

he is not overly popular and if Tommy Thompson ran again he would probably lose.
