Has anyone really ever considered Gary Hart?
I mean really. Honestly, back when he F****ed up the race, I was too young to get into what was going on and what everyone's positions were. Why couldn't he get back into the swing? Someone educate me; I can't seem to find out much more than his bio on Arianna's blog. Is it possible he would be a good candidate for __________? (not necissarily prez.)Anyone?

3. He was a distinguished senator
In the last couple of years of the Clinton administration, he co-chaired a study (along with Warren Rudman) on the threat of terrorism, the results of which they presented to the Bush admin right after it's inauguration, which of course they ignored.

In 2002 or 2003, he considrered running for president but decided not to. I think he considered running for the senate again last year, but decided not to.

He has a website and occasionally posts to a blog there. I don't have the link but I'm sure you could find it just by googling "gary hart"

He's a great voice for the Dems.

4. I believe Hart could have taken Ronnie in 84 or destroyed Poppy in 88....
...which is why I find it amazing that Donna Rice is now a religious reich anti-porn activist. I think she was playing for their team all along.

I'm not sure what Hart's chances would be like now after taking 20 years off. He got a little airtime because of 9-11 related issues, specifically how a report he was involved in was mostly ignored by Team Bush, and that definitely gives him one thing to campaign against the Pukes. Of course he could always be governor of Colorado first, which would make his Presidential chances better in the long run.

13. No one could have taken out Reagan in 1984
It was "morning in America again" and the country was generally content with the job he was doing.

A good politician may have been able to take out Poppy, but even that is questionable.

In the long run Hart is now too old to restart his political career, he is already 69, and Donna Rice would haunt him where ever he went.

5. I have some great footage of him campaigning for Kerry in 2004
He's a very smart guy...I think he really decided he didn't want to be President in 1988 when he spun off the track.

He does know his stuff on foreign policy and the environment.

7. He considered running in 04
but the field was too thick with candidates. He'd make a good chief of Homeland Security, I think.

10. Donna Rice...oh Yeah!
Seriously, he's too intelligentn and qualified. He thinks things through, would probably be a catalytic leader, and is strong and open minded at the same time. No way, dude, not in this lifetime.

11. Hart lost his chance when he challenged reporters to produce a mistress
and they did.

Too bad, I supported him up until that point.

Its his own fault for his own stupidity, he will never hold elected office again.

12. He's had several chances to run for the senate again
and passed on them. He could have overcome the Monkey Business long term if he hadn't been such a flake to get back into the race in Dec 1987. The Dems were doing fine w/o him. And his campaign misfired when he got low single digits in Iowa and NH in 88. That's what truely ruined his electoral politics career.
